Now that we are six days into September, I'm finally getting my monthly wrap up finished! Summer reading kept us busy here at the library, but we love it! Thank you so much to all who participated in our summer reading program, especially those of you who participated here on Goodreads! Now onto the wrap-up.
This month I read….
War Storm by Victoria Aveyard- I have a love/hate relationship with this series overall, and this book as well. The first one was pretty good, then the second was just ok, the third was terrible, and this one worked its way back up to ok. The beginning was slow and pretty boring, especially since it’s an almost 700 page book, but once it got to where it was going I got hooked and was loving it. Unfortunately it fell flat again with the ending. Honestly if you take out about the first 200 pages and the last 100 pages it would be a pretty good book.
I Got This: To Gold and Beyond by Laurie Hernandez- I’ve been following Laurie since the 2016 Olympics trials and just love her so I had to grab this book when I saw it. This book however, while sweet and filled with inspiring words, was not meant for my demographic. It is definitely meant for pre-teen or teenage girls, and if you have a girl that age in your life I would definitely recommend it for them.
