Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Hi, some time ago I used to be quite specific when inserting a secondary author's role (I would put Afterword, or Introduction, or Foreword), then I read (in this group, I think) that you should just use a generic "Contributor" for these cases.
Is that right? Now I can't remember if I really did read this rule or I imagined it! (I can't find it in the manual)

Never seen that written anywhere Moloch. That of course doesn't mean it wasn't.

To me, contributor is for authors contributing to an anthology.

I always list the other authors as you've listed them ~ Afterword, Introduction, Foreword or Preface.

If a specific role is known, I can see no reason not to mention it (or them).
