Hi! Me, Jude the Epic Reader, and Shannara have began a buddy read of An Ember in the Ashes and we are willing to invite anyone else who wants to join us in the discussions. We will have different threads for the different chapters so please no spoilers past the parts that we read, if it is within the chapters we have read you can say whatever you want about it.
Thank you.

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 47 comments I am already very much hooked into this book! I can’t wait to see what happens the Laia and her brother facing the mask! I’m also eager to find out what led Elias to being a mask and then wanting to run away. I absolutely love books that snag your attention in a very short time, but now I have pretty high expectations for the rest of the book!

Definitely, it didn't give us much information on either Laia or Elias in these two chapters. I kind've like (and kind've don't) the fact that they split it up in the middle of one narrators story to tell part of the other. It keeps some mysteriousness but its also a little irritating.

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 47 comments I totally agree. It can be interesting to see two different characters develop like that in a book, but, for me, it can be hard to change points of view just as I’m getting into the current view/narrative.

Yeah, that's my general opinion on multiple points of views.

Shannara (httpwwwshannarareads2com) | 47 comments Ok, sorry I’m late on this, but I just finished the first 8 chapters. I got delayed having a baby. Anyway, this is super good so far!! I’m really liking Elias’ character especially. After reading chapter eight it seems like something huge is going to happen and he’s going to be a part of it, maybe part of making things better. I like Laia too, but I’m much more interested in Elias’ storyline at this point. What do you think so far? Any predictions as to what’s going to happen?
