Laura (username) Hello!

I like story about murder, serial killer and detective who try to catch them, so mystery with action.
Please suggest me some series with the same detective, the format I am looking for is similar to the pocket thriller collection.
Please avoid Agatha Christie or super famous author because I already read or know their books.
I also don't like story about psychology thriller where they use the mystery just to trick your mind but nothing actually happened

I remember I read some series but forgot the name, one series was about a female specialist who analyse bones, while the other series was about a male detective, sophisticated and rich.

If you also know good Stand alone I am open to suggestion!

Thanks

T (twoo) I think your female/bone analysis might be Kathy Reich's, Tempe Brennan series?

I'm 1/3 of the way through the Stephen King trilogy - Mr Mercedes/Finders Keepers/End of Watch.

I don't know who you consider super famous author, so not sure if Jeffrey Deaver, John Sandford, Ridley Pearson are included. There's also Mo Hayder and Luca Veste.

Those may not be to your taste (or anyone else's for that matter), just some that I've read.

Thomas (tom471) | 2006 comments I suggest Dana Stabenow. See current group read.

Paul Perry (pezski) | 233 comments Mark Billingham's Tom Thorne books are excellent and should fit. John Connolly is phenomenal, although his books veer toward the supernatural which isn't to everyone's taste.

Possibly the best serial killer novel I've ever read is The Straw Men, although it only extends into a trilogy. That's one of the things I like about it, but I know some folk prefer the extended series.

More in that vein are Val McDermid's Tony Hill & Carol Jordan series. She is simply one of the finest writers of crime fiction of this or any other era, and in this series she explores some very dark, serial killer tropes.

I love Mark Billingham's series. Val McDermid is good, too.
