No, although that does look like a good series, thanks!This wasn't an alternative earth series, it was completely AU.
This one may have been YA and I'm pretty sure it was a self-published series on Amazon.

The scenes I remember most clearly:
The protagonist and a couple of men she's traveling with find a fabled treasure cave. There's a puzzle/game she has to solve to get into it. She has three tries.
(view spoiler)[When they get in, they find tons of treasure. Gold, jewels, weapons, armour. It may be an elven treasure trove, but most likely hidden artifacts from a past age of greatness. There's fabulous armour and fabled weapons hidden there.
She finds and takes some special clothing to wear that looks like silver? Acts like armour? (hide spoiler)]
In a related scene, the older man is poling the three of them down a river, through a dangerous forest. Although they're short on food, etc., it's too dangerous to land. Of course, they do, and get (temporarily?) separated. Can't remember what kind of dangerous animals/monsters are on the shore.
