Before my Kindle I just wrote them down in a notebook...."
Hi Janette,
I think some of your want list depends on what type of kindle you have. Different types have different capabilities. I know my Kindle lets me put my books into collections, but I don't know if the paperwhite has that option. Which kind do you have?

Yes, it’s not as easy as it is on my kindle, but you can definitely do it.

When I had my Sony e-reader, which I loved and still have, I set up the Caliber, but made the mistake of putting lots of books in the reader before I set up how to record them. It was a mess, so this time I'm not getting that many books yet.
I'll hunt up the info on collections. Thanks for the help

I use Goodreads bookshelves to keep track of all my books. I don't really access it on my Kindle (but I believe there's a way you can...), I just use my tablet or phone when I want to look something up.
Every time I get a new Ebook, I find it on Goodreads and add it to my shelf labeled "Kindle-Own" and then any other categories I'd like to remember. It's worked well for me so far. Good luck!!

I do my major sorting on my gr shelves. So kindle, ebook, paperback, authors, shifters, vamps, dragons, etc etc, lots of shelves. Way too many to add to my kindle.
Most of my kindle books are in the cloud & I generally only dl them when I know I'll be reading them soon. But so far, once they make it to the kindle I leave them on there as I'm a big re-reader also.
Before my Kindle I just wrote them down in a notebook. Easy, I can look over at my bookshelves and see my books, no problem.
Now, however, they are in my Kindle and I am trying to figure out what is the best way I can know what ones I have. At present I have only 33 books, I want to eventually replace all my paperbacks so I can read them as my eyesight gets worse.
What I am hoping is that I can get something on my Kindle that will let me open it up and see the categories, such as Paranormal, Mystery, Fantasy and other genres that I read. I can open up the one I want and look through to see what books I haven't read and read it. Or one I want to re-read, I do that a lot. And, hopefully, list the ones I need to buy to finish my incomplete series or missing books my daughter lost when she borrowed them.
Suggestions? I'd prefer not to have to go to my computer to find the info, don't want to be out somewhere and not be able to find the book I want.
Sorry, should have stated what I have. Paperwhite 5th generation is what it is supposed to be. Opps, 7th gen is my Fire
