Books and Jams Readalong discussion

This is the largest chunk of the book. Have any of your first impressions changed?
What do you like or dislike about Daniel? Are you finding the storyline to be predictable? Share anything you're thinking up to this point.

I finished this section about an hour ago.
I am much more invested in the plot and the characters but there seems to be something lacking in the pacing because I still do not feel like I cannot put the book down.
My favorite part about the book is the gothic atmosphere and how it is described in the city and other living spaces such as old houses etc.
It looks like it is going to be a four star read for me.

This section definitely picked up the pace a bit. We are pretty deep in the mystery by the time this section ends. So many puzzle pieces and I'm not quite sure how everything fits together yet. I love the touch of creepy that is in here. When Daniel and Bea were in that house the second time I was totally creeped out!

I just finished this section, and I am hoping to finish the book tonight. I find it interesting that the characters who are filling in the story for Daniel and Fermin seem to require very little persuasion to open up to them. It's as if they have wanted to tell their stories for so long, but no one ever asked them the right questions until now.

I haven't figured out the mystery yet, but I am really not trying either. I'm just enjoying the story and letting it unfold.
