Gerald Miller | 821 comments After a few days without a laptop I finally got what I wanted. I am listening to The Miniaturist. This has been a very fast listen so to speak and I'm now awaiting the ending. I have finished Grant. This is long book but very exciting.

A bit of a slog at first, but good historical factoids about the effect of the occupation on France and it's wine producing regions--most of the country's population, really. For someone who doesn't know their burgundy from their bordeaux, this book is a real eye-opener.

Gerald: PBS has recently broadcast an adaptation of The Miniaturist. It is beautifully filmed and I enjoyed it as much as the book.
