Brittany McCann (brittanylmccann) | 1266 comments I will just have to not use Water for Elephants unless someone else comes up, I need it for 5 other challenges so I have to get it done before week 3. I am sure I will have other books to use though for week 2. Catwoman I will read this weekend

Luke Fox is one of the main characters that could work for an "L" Unfortunately have a ton of good letter like Q that aren't useful ahahaha

Luke’s superhero name is Batwing, so it could count for B too! 😀

Goodnight folks, happy book-finishing!

JanEyre9 Sorry about that Deanna, it should be the 488 page count for Dracula.

I will have Crown of Midnight finished in time

No problem. I often switch back and forth between an audiobook and either the kindle or print version, so I just wanted to double check.

Deanna | 3529 comments Question of the Week

Recap of week one: Best book of the week? Any surprises good or bad?

My best books were White Hot and Wildfire by Andrews. This whole series has been 5 stars for me.

This week's surprise: Into the Black. I downloaded it because it sounded interesting, had an O for series, and had both ebook and audiobook available so I could switch back and forth. It was like watching a big budget action movie, lots of nonstop action.

message 525: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments I liked all 4 of the books I read for Week One. Nothing below 4 stars. The only full 5 star rating I gave was for And the Rest is History though. This series is consistently great, but in this installment there is more focus on character work and friendships than usual, as opposed to just a ton of well-detailed time travels.

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) My favorites for week 1 were Gabriel which I enjoyed more than the 2nd book in this series and partly because of the big crossover with characters from her Vampires in America Series. Also really liked Winter Kill.

I actually had a one star book which I hardly ever give but this book was so bad if I hadn't said I'd read it for a couple of challenges I would have DNF'd it. The Mercenary had a hero who was just an ass to the heroine the whole book and I hate those.

message 528: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (itsmedaisy) | 279 comments I think the best book of the week for me was Deep (Stage Dive, #4) by Kylie Scott , I loved all of the books in that series

Worst for me was Royal Heir (Westerly Billionaire, #3) by Ruth Cardello , sometimes I really don't understand how books have the goodreads rating that they do

I would have finished this a few hours earlier, but my daughter and I got sent out on a Surprise! Spa Day this afternoon. Her dad booked us for tandem treatments for our birthday, which is tomorrow. (Yep, my daughter and I have the same birthday. 🎂)

message 531: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (itsmedaisy) | 279 comments That sounds like an awesome day! I love spa days, I wish I did them more often.

message 532: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments It was really nice. We got mani/pedi, massage, and hairstyling.

Tomorrow I have a meeting with my boss's boss's boss -- she is pretty new to the organization, and it's my first time ever meeting her. She's going to think my nails and hair always look this good, which is a FAR cry from the truth, LOL. I hadn't had a real manicure in like 10 years or something!

JanEyre9 Recap of week one: Best book of the week? Any surprises good or bad?

My favorite book was Dracula. I expected it to be slow moving and dry (which is the experience I had recently with Frankenstein) but man does this book stand the test of time. It's riveting. I also really loved Postcards from the Edge.
