Happy reading!

I prefer to do it all at one time, so once I've finished the book and the discussion posts. I'll add mine Friday or Saturday morning after the last discussion set. I only read ahead when I need to write questions unless the book really grabs my attention.

Re The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White, two different libraries got my print holds in at the same time! Yay libraries! I took one and canceled the other so someone else can have it right away. (And it is amazing how long the waits are for the ebook and audio versions...)
Since that BOM starts on the 16th, but Weeks Three and Four of Wheel start on the 10th and the 17th, respectively, I will probably start reading on the 15th or 16th, take my time, and finish it during Week Four. I hope it works for whatever word we have then, but it seems to have plenty of character names, so even if there are no D's, K's and W's, we should be safe :D

I am on track with Crazy Rich Asians though. Am I able to use it as a re-read as a task useage if I read it less than 6 months ago though? I didn't think so, so I haven't set it as currently reading

Correct. No re-read in less than 6 months.
Deanna, will her participation in BOM discussion still count though?

Ok thanks I couldn't remember, so I figured I would throw it up there just in case hahha. I'm almost done with it. It's for her younger audience, but I love Holly black's mind!

LOL that's funny, I have that same book on my list of possible B's to use this week, but decided to use Hammered instead because it has an O character.
I really need to work on finishing both of these series!

Unfortunately no, it won't count for points because the reread rule makes the book ineligible for the challenge.

But she is not rereading, only participating in discussion. I think that is where the confusion lies.
My understanding during challenge prep was that one has to be actively reading a BOM book in order for it to count for both regular book (length) points and BOM bonuses, in which case Brittany’s participation will not count.
In the Rules, in the BOM section, it says
Note 2: Books need to be part of the spell-it-out to be used for points
Deanna, are you actively reading Crazy Rich Asians (for this week or next), or just doing DQ’s based on a previous reading? Because if it’s the latter, then wouldn’t you and Brittany both not count?

I am on track with Crazy Rich Asians though. Am I able to us..."
To repeat: No unfortunately Brittany can't earn points for the discussion because the book must be eligible for spell-it-out points and it is not for her because of the reread rule.
I am reading the book. I'm leaning towards finishing this week, but it will depend on whether or not it works for the spell it out letters we need towards the end of the week. It's not on the spreadsheet because based on the Goodreads description I wasn't initially sure it would fit this week's word at all. Regardless, the points will apply when I finish either this week or next, whichever makes more sense for team spellings.

Yay! Yeah, it's good that we're supposed to get the next word on Thurs. That can help everybody plan for this BOM as well as the other. :D

Book: Old Loyalty, New Love

How it Fits: Title (O), Series: L'Ange (L), Character: Quade Danas (D)

I am replacing with The Titan's Curse, which has the same point value, but works for B & D (and probably L but I will verify later).
ETA: hopefully I can finish it in time, but fair warning, I do plan to concentrate first on finishing at least 2 of my 3 remaining O books. I will be sure to keep Captains apprised 🙂

This was a rough reading week for me. We had a potluck at work on Monday that I organized so I was working on that for a good part of the day and couldn't be plugged in. Then I was home with my daughter on Tuesday so that took a lot of my audiobook time away. Then my husband and I went to see the band Iron & Wine last night so there went that reading time. All good things for life but not for this challenge lol. Trying to listen at a fast speed to play catch up!

Locations aren’t part of spell-it-out for this challenge BTW.
I hope you like this book — I thought it was pretty great, in a slightly dark and depressing sort of way, perhaps!
