BUT: If it makes more strategic sense to finish Stranger Things Happen next week, I can set it aside and finish it later. I've read about 2/3 of it. (It has TINSEL word-in-text but we no longer care about that!)
It works for letters S & L this week, but we need a lot of L's for next week. Deanna, just let me know sometime tomorrow morning.

@Everybody: Sally's 2-difficult-letters word is 1 letter shorter in total than our word. So we will absolutely need to read our word more times that they do if we want any chance. And their team is also a lot larger than ours. D:

I'd say go ahead and finish it for this week. L's are generally fairly easy to find especially since we can use character names as well.

No, the letters for partial words do not have to be consecutive. We'll get credit for all of the books/letters in the first partial word.

We can only get points for one "partial spelling". So for our current 9th spelling, we would get points for TISEL, but we wouldn't get points for our 10th "I" unless we complete the missing N in the 9th spelling first.

I noticed that Rebecca has been doing Dark Descent BOM too, even though that book is not on the spreadsheet for her yet.

Car audio books take me FOREVER!

Perfect!!

I was just "spying" on Rebecca and Megan since they rarely check in. Based on their Wheel shelves, it looks like Megan has read 2 more books so far but 1 may not be eligible because it's shelved as Childrens on the front page and may not have verifiable word count (at least it doesn't on ARbookfind); and Rebecca has read a few books but mainly not the ones on the spreadsheet.

I apparently cannot get a copy in time to read next week, but just in case anyone can, Dead Poets Society works well. It isn't long, and in addition to the D title it also seems to have an O character.
Just saying. ;D

I have picked 7 books along with my I book I'll already have started and should finish one spelling of Goodwill.

Can you double check your wheel shelf? The finished books on the spreadsheet aren't showing up on the shelf. Thanks.

Also, I have the new BOM of the month so that's one I will be reading for next week.

We're going to try to finish as many spellings of goodwill as we can to rack up tough letters. We can only have one partial word, so we have to spell out all of the letters.
The extra twist is optional. If you have a book that words for one of the tasks or if you want to use a task or two to pick some of your books, that is fine. If you just want to worry about the spelling that is fine as well.

Whatever works!
I wish I could get a copy fast, but alas I shall have to read it some other time.

I am hoping that Sally will waste time picking stuff for the optional twists, so that while they’re busy with that, we can out-read them 😅

Amazing job everyone!

I know participation means a substantive contribution, as opposed to just “I liked it” and that’s it.
But like if, say, my library copy of My True Love Gave To Me turns up towards the end of this week, and I read it by Saturday afternoon, but don’t have time to answer more than a few of the DQ’s before challenge end (preferably on whatever my favorite stories end up being :D) will that be enough to count?
