Our Lady of the Streets
Details in spreadsheet (sorry, I am on a tablet right now and can’t type too easily)
On to next book!

One of my new books covers the same letter (R) as the old one. The other new book can be used for C, A, or N (that I know of so far...).
I am removing the old 60-pointer because I have just discovered that it is set at Xmas time, so I want to save it for possible use in Weeks 5 or 6 because I do not have a lot of options for the bonus categories of many of those words! 🧐

I guess you meant A character?

I guess you meant A character?"
Actually, it's fine as is. Articles can either be used or ignored. For example, I'm currently reading The Monstrumologist. If we needed the letters from the title, I could claim either the T from "the" or ignore the article and use the M.

Huh! I was not aware of that being an either-or thing on NBRC. Again, perhaps Cutthroat ruined me.

From the challenge rules for how a spell it out works:
"As always, if the first letter of a title starts with an indefinite or definite article ('A', 'An', 'The', etc.), you may use the first letter of the second word in the title to spell out your chosen word."
The key word being may allows the choice of using or ignoring the article. It's also in the general challenge rules; so if you ever do individual spell it out challenges on nbrc, the same rule applies.

Sorry, just venting. I get so annoyed at this stuff. 😡

Is it the edition you linked? 384 pages? I have the spreadsheet open...

I'll be interested to know what you think. It's on my tbr.

Ditto, I really want to read all of the DC Icons books.

Booo to any possible cheating but yay to us having a great first day. I had a rough time getting into my first book. Sci fi has never been my favorite but my husband and a good friend of ours raved about Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. Ittttttttt just isn't for me. But I switched to the audio and am finding it much easier to absorb. The narrator has a slow delivery so I can listen at a faster speed and should finish in an hour and a half or so. Hoping to also finish Candy Corn Murder today.

Just post if you come across additional eligible letters in any of your books (e.g. character names) so Captains can have options :D

Yes. Second word will start sometime on Saturday but we will find out what it is a day or two in advance.

Deanna, I wonder, if Rebecca will literally have no internet access when the next word is assigned and for however long afterwards, would the Mods be willing to PM her with the word an extra day in advance, so long as she promises not to tell the rest of us?

Deanna, I wonder, if Rebecca will literally have no internet access..."
I can ask.

Our word for week 2 will be BLOOD. Rebecca, you can plan your vacation reading now. I hope you have a great time on your cruise.

Lots of O's as I expected... but at least super easy for some of the bonuses.
Anyone mind of I claim word-in-title?
I have at least 3 books that fit :D

I can do

That same person... OMG. There are literally not enough hours in a day for her to have "read/listened" to as many pages as her books contain. It's over 3k pages in total, just her 4 books. The challenge just started 46 hours ago. What's the point of winning if you don't properly read/listen to your books? I mean, what do you get out of it?

How it Fits: Title Starts with a N (also author C)

I ask for us, in case some one makes a mistake when setting dates, but I also ask because of the possible cheating I mentioned before... This person now has 8 books “read” and shelved for Wheel, and apart from the mathematically impossible page count problem, 4 of them have no Start or Read dates set at all, and 1 of them has a Start date set as 10/8, which is obviously before the Challenge stared.
