I got four hours off work in the morning because the ER was overstaffed and I was granted the comp and slept a couple more hours before going to work. It worked out.

I think we were in fourth place but have dropped to ninth place in past couple of weeks. We don't have a lot of team participation in BOM's like some other teams and our co-captain has been sick too. Life happens. Just have fun reading. The friendly competition has lead me to have read more than I had anticipated.

Sarah | 3273 comments I posted my book in books read thread - The Art of Fielding, and it can work for all letters except N. Also good points - it was over 500 pages.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Nice work Sarah. I finished another book today also. I think we can now finish our second run through. 😀

message 457: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 1567 comments I’m doing the BOM for this month but it doesn’t start until the last day of this week’s challenge so won’t work until next week. So now I’m just focusing on books I want to read and have already read 5 for this week

message 458: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3273 comments I think this next week we pick our word of three choices - cookies, eggnog, or fruitcake.
I would think cookies may be easiest? Eggnog has so many g's.

message 459: by Krissy (new)

Krissy (krissystewart) | 316 comments Cookies will be easier to find on a cover and in a title. Plus I have a book for genre already

message 460: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3273 comments Awesome. OMG I need to go to sleep. It is after midnight and I have to get up and work at 5:45 am. Uuugghh.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I agree that cookies is the best option for this week. If we have no objections I will let the mods know.

Also an update, I sent greenfairy a message but unfortunately had no answer so I have let the mods know. I doubt we will get a replacement player at this late stage but we will see.

Doing well this week and we have a couple of run throughs now. Could probable use some more O’s(no surprise there 😂) but if everyone keeps reading like they are, we should head into the last week with a solid score

Greenfairy is on a team with me in another challenge and she hasn't checked in there either

message 465: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 1567 comments Cookies works for me as well. And will definitely be doing some of those bonus challenges!

message 466: by Karolyn (new)

Karolyn | 1041 comments I couldn't help myself and started a tab for the bonus (sorry Nikk).

All of the the tasks are listed on the left and I started filling in obvious ones. All of our eligible books from week 1-4 are on the right (any weekly bonus point books or books already on the left side have been removed). I didn't copy over the books for this week yet.

Have a look and if there is a book of yours that fit's a bonus task, feel free to move it from the list on the right to the tasks on the left.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I am pretty sure we can only use books we finish in week 6 and use in our week 6 spell out for the mini challenge. At least that is what it says at the beginning of the mini challenge rules

Beth (jasonverlander) | 1567 comments Yeah it’s only week 6 books

Sarah | 3273 comments I posted my last book for the week in books read thread - The Widow (Kate Waters, #1) by Fiona Barton - which I think works for all letters except an A and an O.

message 471: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3273 comments On page 18 of the ebook of The Witch Elm by Tana French I have a sentence with the word cookies. It is another 500 pager too. And I have started it for our final week. I just don't know yet if it will be worth more points in another one of those extra challenge things if it fits somewhere else. I am still not quite sure how that all works?

message 472: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 3273 comments Actually I would like to use my book for category 15 of the mini challenge - a book with four articles of clothingvin the text for 40 points for The Witch Elm.

message 473: by Beth (new)

Beth (jasonverlander) | 1567 comments Reading a book now that I won’t be able finish by deadline but should does fit with C and S for cookies and probably one of the extra challenges

message 474: by Sarah (last edited Dec 02, 2018 12:03AM) (new)

Sarah | 3273 comments OK, I can't enter on the spreadshheet - but my book The Witch Elm by Tana French works also for an australian top 20 dogs name with either Toby or Zak. My book The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared (The Hundred-Year-Old Man, #1) by Jonas Jonasson has black typing on cover

Here is an update on who has snagged what so far. I will also post this updated list on the first page of this thread for easy reference. As you grab the tasks, please make sure to update the planning spreadsheet or post on this thread so we can avoid double ups.
