Same here. I have a stable schedule but this week is dragging. I told my bf I like Thursdays because he gets paid and I get to update my reading challenge. He called me a nerd.

Time flies when you're trying to finish a challenge 😩. I know I keep saying that I'll be happy with whatever I accomplish this year. Getting anything done at all will be a success, but I still can't help but feel disappointed that I didn't get to finish what I had hoped to. And its super frustrating to not have the concentration to read when you have so many good books planned out. Bummer year for me. Hopefully next year will be better ( Although at the moment it's looking more challenging). I'm excited for the new lists to come out so I can start over and try again.

I was just thinking I'm having a really difficult time remembering what day of the week it is! Not sure why, either. And I too was disappointed that it isn't update day!

I was just thin..."
We're all in a weird time warp today! I bet tomorrow I'll forget to update!

I looked through my entire read list to find something but I feel like everything involves at least a little love.
One that I read at the beginning of the year and loved was Roller Girl. It was really cute ( its a graphic novel though).
When Im down ( which is often) I sometimes like to go back to middle grade books. The Goldfish Boy was a good one that I just read. It had a little mystery to it and the MC has some issues with OCD, but it was quick and light and the friendships between the characters were touching.
The other one I came up with that was such a feel good book for me was Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and her daughter. It was super light and just adorable. But its a teen romance so....love.
I wish I could help. I tried looking at some light/happy reads on listopia but wasn't familiar with most of them or the ones I knew had some sort of love theme to them.
Take care X

The first was for the promt "Your Favorite Color in the Title. Blue at the Mizzen by Patrick O'Brian, and is the last of the Aubrey/Maturin series. The series ended because O'Brian passed away. I have read and loved this series for years, but found myself not caring as much for this one. It seemed to be lacking the subtle humor of the earlier books and also seemed to ramble a lot about things that didn't really enhance the book.
The second was The Outsider by Stephen King as A book Borrowed or Given to You. I borrowed it from the library, so I figure that counted. I thought it was ok. The plot was cool and the surprise entrance by a character from a previous SK book was fun.
The third was In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin by Erik Larson for A book Set in a Country that Fascinates You. I have mixed feelings about this book. The outsider's perspective on the start of Nazi Germany would have been fascinating, if the family he followed wasn't as boring as plain oatmeal. The Dodd family did nothing whatsoever interesting and it went way into to much details of Martha Dodds numerous affairs and lovers.
Currently Reading"
Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley for A Book Written by a Female Author using a Male Pseudonym. Mary Shelley originally publish it anonymously, with foreword by her husband, which I think would make most people at the time think it was written by him. I just hit the part were things start to get interesting.
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood for A Book about Feminism. I find this book rather unsettling, because it seems the people currently in charge of the US seem to be using it as a guidebook on how to suppress women. It seems all to plausible that they might actually take things this far.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will have a look in the middle grade books in the library.

Artemis - I consider this a very light read. I don't recall anyone dying and there is no love going on. Very funny heist/caper on the moon. As someone commented to me - sci fi light. I laughed all the way through.
