I am in the middle of the Caribbean tour right now. I will say that my Bahamas book is wonderful -- but not from a local author. Glad it is helping.

I did Sidney Poitier's memoir and OMGOSH it was just so fantastic. To be honest I didn't know he was from The Bahamas so that was a bonus. But it was a lovely read/listen.

Thanks ... the regional ones are only images. I cannot find a fill in one that allows me to do regions like this. So only my world map in the first post will change as I read. But the more micro maps allow me to better picture where I am in the world.

I was looking at mapchart and I am going to try to start working it in in December.

I just took a quick peek myself, and think I will try to figure it out at least for some of my smaller maps. (It had one for the Middle East, for example.)

Thanks! I really wanted to see a bit of the culture from each province and territory, and for the most part I have gotten it. I am open for recommendations for any Canadian books though!

A Canadian author I really like is Margaret Laurence. I recommend all of her books.

I enjoyed this glimpse into a process that most of us know little about. Harris took us to the Vatican in the days after the Pope dies when the world's cardinals gather to elect a new Pope. It is mystery, political intrigue and character portraiture all in one. I enjoyed the book (though I kind of hated the twist at the end) and I do feel as though I learned a bit about the process of choosing a new leader.

Hi MaryAnn! Yes, scroll to the bottom of discussion and click on More. There is a folder with all the blank lists. And there are two map making sites. This one is mapchart.

The Turn of the Key I just finished this one as an ARC. It drops tomorrow and I enjoyed it.

Just finished The Things They Carried which is an excellent book about the Vietnam war.

I had already read a book for Turkey, but I just finished 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in this Strange World. And I thought it was both a great book, and a good look at Istanbul.
