Theodore Cohen (theodorejeromecohen) | 1449 comments I just received this e-mail from eReader News Today (ENT):

Hi, Ted,

Your book, Creative Ink, Flashy Fiction, Book 3, has been posted as the Book Of The Day. Here's the link:

https://ereadernewstoday.com/book/cre...

Please send this link to all of your social media accounts so that it gets as much exposure as possible.

Also, let all your fans know about the ENT Facebook post and ask them to "LIKE" and comment on it - and please feel free to do so yourself also. More "likes" and comments on the Facebook post generates more traffic and sales.

Thanks, and have a great day!

The fact is, I've put the first six books in my Flash Fiction anthology series on sale for a week (Books 5 and 6 will go on sale in two days, given their contract periods), so if you've ever wondered what one looks like, this is as low as Amazon will allow me to discount them.

Ted

PS As you may know, ENT has been my go-to marketing site for several years. They are especially good if you're selling romance and mystery/thriller books. T

Well, you have to pay them to run your book, but even a regular posting to their site usually generates a lot of sales, even in the days following a listing. I've tried a number of sites, and over the years, this one is the best for the money, sometimes generating well over 100 sales in a week. That said, sales are genre-dependent. As I noted, romance and mystery/thrillers outdo short stories and YA. (I'm surmising romance does well on general principles; the other conclusions are based on my experience).

Any idea how general or literary fiction does on that site?

No, sorry...my mystery/thrillers have done the best (Antarctic Murders Trilogy; Martelli, NYPD). The one time I tried YA it didn't do well. Neither did my books of short stories. Today's the first time I've run flash fiction. (I don't do romance, but I suspect that's where the gold is, given most readers today are women.)

Others here should chime in if they have any experience with ENT. BTW, I've attempted on two or three occasions to use BookBub, but they've yet to accept one of my books. That said, I find their rates excessive compared, say, to ENT's.

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments Science Fiction, Ted.

Did it have at least three or four good reviews (4 -5 Stars)?

Which book was it?

Theodore Cohen (theodorejeromecohen) | 1449 comments I'll tell you one thing that IS annoying...Amazon is NOT updating its rankings at all in a timely fashion. It's been weeks now, and I keep getting this message on Author Central:

Sales Info
We are experiencing a delay in updating your sales info. Rest assured that we are working to update this page as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!

The rankings on the books I've had on sale haven't changed for hours while the books, themselves, have been selling. It would be nice for people to see that what they are purchasing also has been purchased by others. Amazon isn't helping!

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments Missing Remnants. If only has 4 reviews. Three 5* and one 3*. I’ll have to get sending to bloggers. Then again them knocking me back saved me money. Heavy household expenses here at the moment.

Your price is $2.99. Is it enrolled in KDP?

message 15: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments I’m not exclusive to KDP.

So, how would you discount it?

message 17: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments I used to put it down to .99

message 18: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Cooper | 1028 comments Of course when I change it on KDP to 35% (is it 35 royalty?) and .99, I’ve then got to do the same on D2D and Kobo to put all the prices down.

No sure how that works. When I look at their site, all of their books show them be offered at a discount:

https://ereadernewstoday.com/todays-d...

So, simply selling a book at a low price is not enough to get you a listing. ENT is giving its subscribers an opportunity to buy books that have been discounted. I think that's the reason (or at least one reason) you've been rejected.
