Where are your favourite places to cozy up with a book? (Figurative) bonus points for including pictures!

1. My new giant pillow set up on my couch. It’s like being enfolded in a giant taco of a pillow https://instagram.com/p/Bo62-SjBuze/

2. My hammock

3. Under a blankie in my recliner with a chai latte, or with a home made hot chocolate with a cinnamon stick

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Anywhere in my house: living room couches, recliners, floor, stair nook by the window, lounging on the deck or while taking a long bath.

In the car during long drives. Though that's become more or less anytime I'm in the car.

Audiobook via my fav bluetooth earphones while shopping.

Pretty much anywhere. LOL

message 4: by Shae (new)

Shae | 372 comments 1. My cosy, banana leaf arm chair (looks like a big bird's nest with cushions) in sitting room.

2. Sunny window seat in kitchen.

3. Sofa in front of our wood fire.

2. Everywhere
3. Bath

I think we should have a thread three least typical places you were reading. The answers would be hilarious, I expect.

Tammie | 5952 comments In bed.
Floating in the pool or on the Beach.
In the bath.

Angela Jr. | 1126 comments In no particular order:

1. In bed
2. Outside in a sun lounger or by a lake
3. Audiobooks while at work (not really cozy since I'm walking around all the time, but i love it 🤗)

message 8: by Ahdam (new)

Ahdam (snowlocke) | 2429 comments 1. My bed
2.my leather chair
3. On the train

message 9: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 3613 comments I mostly read propped up in my bed. That's the only place where my family leaves me alone. Anywhere else and I'm fair game.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

1.. Bed
2. In a car both long/short rides
3. On the couch

message 11: by Bea (new)

Bea | 2050 comments 1. My sofa (as long as I'm not disturbed by my cat who always wants to cuddle and sit on my books when I'm reading)
2. Outside in the garden when the weather is nice
3. In the bathtub

I also read a lot on the train but it's not as nice and cosy as at home.

Ahdam (snowlocke) | 2429 comments Hang on I apologise for my limited understanding of having baths (I always shower) how do you guys read a book and have a bath don’t the pages get wet? and I hope you guys don’t use any electronics in your bath

I don’t know maybe to me it’s a bit weird to spend 45 minutes soaking in bath water or something

The trick is to be careful to not get your hands wet when you get in. Then you grab your book, lean back and read. I always put a towel at the end of the bathtub where I can put my book while I get in and that I can use to dry my hands should the need occur.
Overall it's really easy and so far I have not got any water onto a book :) I wouldn't take any expensive hardcovers into the bathtub, though, let alone electronic devices.

I have one of these. I can even prop my Kindle up on it. It can be nice at the end of a long day to soak in a hot bubble bath and read.

Bill | 2150 comments That’s a sweet setup Tammie.

1) Bed
2) Recliner
3) work when I can or nightly walks

message 16: by Soo (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Yah, that's a great setup. =)

I'm with you, Ahdam. Baths don't appeal to me at all. I think it was Kramer from the Seinfeld show who commented once about "sitting in a tepid pool of my own filth" or words to that effect, lol. In fact, no one in my family takes baths. We're all shower people. Once my kids were old enough to bathe themselves it was straight into the showers. In and out and on to other things.

message 18: by Silvana (new)

Silvana (silvaubrey) | 1970 comments 1. Bed
2. Sofa
3. When queuing

message 19: by Andrew (new)

Andrew | 653 comments 1. A family friend has a house on the side of Lily Mountain in Estes Park, Colorado. Reading from their deck, with panaramic views of the Rocky Mountains, pretty much ruins all other reading locations. But if I had to pick two more...
2. lounging on my back patio
3. reclined in my "man chair"

message 20: by Barry (new)

Barry (boprawira) | 1212 comments Similar with many other people here:

1. My bed
2. My sofa
3. A villa in Bali while enjoying the sunshine with a glass of cool drink.

As for weird places where I read ... my bathroom while taking a dump. Rather than wasting away watching youtube, might as well use the time to read haha.

message 21: by Mel (new)

Mel | 2360 comments 1. In bed
2. On the beach
3. At a reading picnic lounging with friends

I'm surprised by how many people read in the bath! I guess if it's your only moment of solitude, it makes sense. I'm a shower person myself, but when I soak in hot springs for a spa, I want to revel in the experience. I guess it would be like reading during a massage. Of course, to each their own!

This list also makes me wish I had a hammock.
