I open my eyes and am surprised to see I was in an elevator by myself. I look around confused. How the hell did I get here? I was... I tumble back against wall a little. I was dead. I had to be. I got hit by a car. I was crossing the street when a car rounded the corner and hit me.
I rest a hand on my heart and find it so strange. Nothing hurt and I didn't feel different but there was no way I survived that. The elevator dings and opens. I peek my head out and see a fancy hallway leading somewhere. Next to me was another elevator.
Derek
I polish a glass behind the bar before I hear the ding of the elevators arriving with two new souls for judging. "They're here." I tell Leo as the memories of the souls get sent to us to aid in our judgement process.

I looked out to see a pink haired girl walking on into the hall. I arched my eyebrow at the silver haired girl that walked in the hall. She looked as confused and possibly as faithless as i imagined her to be.
"And that's your tough case there budy. The one soul no one seems to be able to help out. NO matter what ten reapers have done traveled with her or whatever she still doesn't remember anything." I tell him patting his shoulder.
The silver haired girl looked up and made eye contact with the pink girl.
"Uh... hi?" She calls out to her, probably trying to be friendly or something

I roll my eyes as he says and that is my tough case. The girl looked clueless and lost which is usually what we wanted but she didn't seem to remember no matter what. Ten different reapers have tried to judge her soul but none have been able to.
"Should be fun." I say and look at the other girl who looked like she knew more then she should which couldn't be. Souls don't remember things right away at least not big things like they are dead.
Candy
I look at the girl and she says hi. "Um... hi." I say back looking at her with a weak smile. Oh jeez was she dead too. I walk down the hallway with her until we end up at a bar like room. Two guys stand behind it.
(Crashing early. Totally wiped from exams and papers today)

"I don't know man, I mean that's what the other ten reapers said and they've all had a dose of humbleness when they couldn't crack this girl." I tell him just standing on the edge of the building when i looked down at the girls and the way that they were interacting with one another.
I did tilt my head to the side just a bit noticing that there was something about the soul.
"She's aware." I tell Derek just watching as the girls interact.
The silver haired girl looks at the pink one and she nods her head biting her lip before she looks around the room. "Is this... your first time? I mean... do you remember anything maybe the same room? or different people perhaps?" She asks him

"I'm sure I can figure it out." I tell him as he looks at them. He tells me the pink haired one is aware. "What? That's not possible. Never has a soul been aware of what happened. They aren't suppose to remember." I tell him.
The pink hair girl shift a little looking uncomfortable. "No I mean I have been here before. I have no clue what is going on here. But... are you... are we..."
"Leo." I say seriously since it would ruin things if she tells the other girl that she is dead as well.

I didn't want to ruin this case i mean the silvered haired girl has been playing all kinds of games against many contestants. She couldn't possibly know she's dead. I didn't want to risk Derek's assignment considering this is one of his important jobs before a supposed promotion in our ranks.
I jumped off the ledge of the balcony and arrive right behind the girls. Startling them when the silvered hair looks at me.
"Another bartender?" She asks me and i grinned.
"Guilty, name's Derek and i'll be your host for tonight. Can i get you ladies anything to drink? By drink i mean alcohol." I said going over to jump over the bar table. Taking out drink menus, waiting for Derek to come along.

I jump as a man speaks from behind us. The other girl looks at him and asks about him being another bartender. He grins and says guilty and that his name is Leo. He asks us if he can get us a drink.
He jumps over the bar and gets drink menus as another man comes out. He looks at us and bows his head a little. "Evening ladies. My name is Derek. Pleasure to meet you. I will be your bartender as well while you are here."
"Um... hi. Can one of you tell me where the hell we are. I mean I have never seen a bar like this before and I don't know how I ended up here." I tell them.

"Well its a bar, and it so happens to be an exclusive bar for two people at a time." I smiled politely at the soul who clearly knows that she's dead but we had to be tactful in making sure it doesn't set the pink girl's brain off.
She's been here for a while and there's no knowing what else could happen to her.
"Now how about some honey whiskey with a smoked bacon as a topping?" I smiled and just started serving up two glasses.
"Do you recall your names?"

Okay totally weird. I mean what kind of bar is exclusive for two people at a time. That just seems really freaky but if I really am dead then maybe this is the afterlife?
The Leo guy asks about getting us a drink and serves up two glasses. I am about to tell him I am underage but if I was dead I guess that doesn't matter.
"Thanks." I say and take a sip as he asks for our names. "Umm Candy. Candy Ferrell." I tell him.

I listened to them and it looks like Candy is being as careful and tactful as she could be which is nice. I mean she's not only thinking of herself but she's probably trying to play it safe and all.
"Uh my name is... Catalyna..." The silvered haired girl looked like she was trying to digest or pinpoint what she was saying before she took a sip of the drink i made.
"Well it's nice to meet you ladies, we're always glad to have company here."

The other girl says her name is Catalyna before she takes a sip of the drink as well. Leo says it is nice to meet us and they are glad to have company here.
"Do you get a lot of company here?" I ask. The other bartender chimes in.
"A good bit." He says with a nod.

"Alright so I don't want to make your stay here off or uncomfortable or anything but we do have to tell you something." I said taking a sip of the beer as i try to remain as casual as possible right now.
"You're both going to play a game, my friend here Derek is going to tell you the rules of the game." I said looking over to him hoping that he would have some tact for the girls

Leo sets things up for the game and tells them that I will explain the rules for them.
"One, I unable to tell you exactly where you are. Two, the two of you will now play a game. Three the game will be chosen by roulette. Four, the two of you will stake your lives on the game. Five, you two cannot leave until the game is over." I explain to them.
"Do you understand these rules?" I ask them.
"What! What kind of rules are those?" Candy asks looking at us with wide eyes.

Well we are technically being really grim right now in explaining the rules of the game. But considering that we are here to guide souls and judge them we kind of have to be as ambiguous as we could for the sake of them having a fair chance.
"Drinks?" I offered when Candy reacts in a reasonable way but Catalyna, or Cata just looks at us with an arched eyebrow.
"Rules from SAW?" She mumbled and i just rolled my eyes a bit. There's really nothing going on in that head of hers.

Leo offers more drinks as I freak out a little. I mean what the hell was this place. Catalyna just seems be low key chill about this train wreak of a game.
"What the hell is going on here?!? Why do we have to play a game. We are de-." Derek covers my mouth with his hand and gives me a look.
"The rules are the rules. You can choose not to follow them but I wouldn't recommend that." He says and the mirror behind the bar glows a little and I see... bodies??? No wait life size dolls or maybe dummies. Either way it is creepy as shit. Does he mean that we are going to end up like that if we don't play.

"Derek be nice, we have to be kind to our guests and be as understanding as possible." I explained to him knowing that he was trying to keep his target to be receptive to our message. I mean for crying out loud this is her tenth time!!
"Look you have an hour to decide to participate in this game. Just press the button and the roulette will choose your game." I said showing them the button.
Cata looks at the button and then back at us before she takes a breath.
"Three tequila shots please." She asks

Leo tells him to be nice and Derek uncovers my mouth. Leo tells us that we have an hour to decide to participate in this game. To just press the button and the roulette will choose our game.
The other girl looks at the button and then orders three shots. Derek goes to pour them for here.
"There is no way. This is crazy." I say get up. "I'm looking for a way out of here."

"You'll find that there's no way to get out of here." I explained to her and she just looks a little too determined before she storms right off. I literally debate on going after her or perhaps just staying here after she realizes that she's not leaving.
I looked back at the girl that takes the three shots without even hesitating when she asks for three more shots.
"I'm going after her." I tell him and jump over the bar to go after her

The girl downs the three shots and asks for three more. I nod and pour her three more. She couldn't get drunk so why refuse her request.
Leo tells me he is going after the other girl as she storms off. He jumps over the bar to go after her as she heads back to where the elevators are.
Candy
Like hell I would. I was going to find a way out of here. There is no way that I was just going to sit around and do nothing. This couldn't really be it, where you go after... after you die.
I shake my head. I can't be dead. I've got fashion school to go to and Jamie's thirteenth birthday next week. Mom was going to make cake and I made him a superhero outfit to wear for it since the theme was superheroes.
I couldn't miss that. I don't even notice that tears are streaming down my cheeks as I keep walking back to the elevators.

I down the three more shots when i looked back at the man that was just pouring me drinks without stopping me. I bite my lip a little before i tilt my head to the side a bit.
"Five shots please." I tell him and just wait for him to serve me some more drinks
Leo
I get to her side and i notice that she's literally crying and it's like she's trying to process everything that is going on with her right now. I felt... like i needed to give her some time to just get used to what's going on. I mean we did say that they had an hour to think about it.
"I'm sorry for your death." I tell her at least acknowledging that she knows is going to help her not feel that she's not crazy.

She downs the three shots and looks back up at me. She bites her lip and tilts her head to the side before asking for five more shots. It wouldn't be smart to play along with her like this since at some point she would realize that she is not getting drunk after having a massive amount of alcohol.
"Are you sure, miss? That is an awful lot to drink." I say.
Candy
I can hear one of them behind me and he tells me he is sorry for my death. A sob escapes my throat. "I can't... I can't be dead." I sob falling to my knees.
My mom, Jamie. They were waiting for me. I couldn't just leave them. I needed to go home to them. "I wanna go home." I sob trying to wipe away the tears that keep coming.

"I am playing as if my life depended on it. I find it best for me to decide if i have a nice dose of alcohol. It tastes great." I tell him just reaching out to take the empty shot of glass. and just tapped it with my finger
"Five shots please, vodka." I tell him
Leo
I don't know how to comfort anyone and she's now openly sobbing right now as she falls to her knees and of course says the speech that i've heard for a couple of times.
It kind of stinks and it sucks that she's having this moment beofre the girl over there. I sat down on the floor with her and i just rub her shoulder a bit .
"That's kind of not how death works." I explain to her

She tells me if she is playing like her life depends on it then it is best to have a nice dose of alcohol in her. She adds it tastes good and taps her glass.
"Very well." I say serving her five more shots.
Candy
I feel him sit down and rub my shoulder a little. He tells me that isn't how death works. "Well screw it! I wasn't suppose to die. I was suppose to go to fashion school and becoming a designer. I was suppose to go to my little brother's birthday. I was suppose to grow up and have a full life." I say wrapping my arms around my knees.
"The other girl... she's dead too isn't she?"

"Look... unfortunately you were suppose to ease into this whole demise and your last memories and all at the end of the game. But i guess it just seems appropriate that i just tell you part of the speech first." I explained to her but then i realized maybe she doesn't want that.
"Life is... only temporary Candy sometimes we live it to the fullest and sometimes accidents happen or fate says something else. I get that it's a tough process but... you need to find that end game already. you need to rest in peace now." I explained to her.
Cata
"Thank you." I tell him as i go ahead and start downing all five shots in a row before i take a breather and just looked back at Derek and just looked at him for a bit.
"Ten shots please." I tell him

He explains that unfortunately I was suppose to ease into this whole demise and my last memories and all at the end of the game. But he guesses it just seems appropriate that he just tells me part of the speech first.
He tells me how life is only temporary and sometimes we live it to the fullest and sometimes accidents happen or fate says something else. That I need to find the end game now and rest in peace.
"Great so I can't even do this whole afterlife thing right either." I say with a bitter laugh. "I can't... I just can't. My mom and Jamie are expecting me to be there. I can't just go. This can't just be it." I tell him.
Derek
She thanks me and throws back all five shots. She is quiet for a bit and then looks back at me for a bit before she asks me for ten more shots.
"Are you sure?" I ask her since that would be far over the limit a human could consume at any given time.

I looked at him when i listen to him tell me that if i was sure that i wanted to take ten shots. I tilt my head to the side and just smiled a bit ghostly when i looked back at the shots and just pushed one glass at him
"Ten. Please."
Leo
"Well technically not everyone dies correctly. This lounge is technically sort of like Limbo. Some people go to heaven some go to hell. But there's every once in a while where we have two souls that died the same time and well slipped passed judgement." i tried to explain to her as best as i could.
"Don't beat yourself about that... Cata isn't normal either. It's like you said she's dead too. But she doesn't remember... anything. She's been through this process like ten times already." I explained to her

I shrug a little and pour her ten more shots. I mean at this point she had to realize that something was up. No human being could drink this much. Though I wonder if she thought about that.
Candy
I frown a little. That poor girl. To go through this process ten times and not remember anything. To not know she is dead. That is horrible. I would be heartbroken if I couldn't remember my mom or brother.
"So what are you going to do with us?" I ask wiping my wet cheeks with the back of my hands.
(Crashing early got work tomorrow.)

I drank the ten shots without thinking much about it until i started placing all the glasses into a pyramid. "I'm not alive am I? Or at least this place is some kind of inception kind of thing." I tell him as i looked at the bartender.
"Play as if our lives depended on it right?"
Leo
I let out a sigh and just tried to not be so much attached to her but at the same time when souls die they need someone to actually try and get through the day. I leaned in and just lightly rubbed her shoulder.
"We're not going to kill you. or her. This is limboish, souls need to remember their lives so we could tap into their memories and judge whether you either get reincarnated or... the other way."

I look at her with a raised eyebrow as she asks if she is not alive and that this place has to be some kind of inception kind of thing. She adds play as if their lives depend on it.
"Yes, play as if your lives depend on it. I can't tell you more then that." I tell her.
Candy
He sighs a little and rubs my shoulder. He tells me they aren't going to kill her or me. That they need us to remember our lives so they could tap into our memories and judge whether we either get reincarnated or... the other way.
"How does that work with me already remembering my memories and she doesn't remember any of hers?" I ask.

"More like play as if my soul depended on it." I said to him looking from the bar to him and the the button. That girl wanted to tell me something and it had to do with how this game was being played
But for some reason i felt like all of this was some strange deja vu for me. The concept in itself seems like i've done this before.
Leo
"Well since you remember your memories when you play the game your soul is kin dof mended into the game. Letting your barriers down and letting us have a peak into you." I explained to her and i just let out a sigh.
"As for Cata... well i don't know. We're trying to figure it out."

"Yes you will be playing as if your soul depends on it." I confirm since she seem to work that much out.
Candy
He explains that I can still play the game with her and they would see what happens. For the other girl they were still trying to figure that out.
"Great." I say with a little frown not liking this at all.

"Look i know that this is hard to wrap around your head. And we just want to help both of you to rest in peace. If it's to either be reborn or to just deal with the consequences of your life. You both deserve closure." I explained to her and just reached out to hold her hand.
"I am sorry for your loss, but... it's time for you to at least have a chance to be in peace."

He tells me that they just want to help us move on so we can rest in peace wherever we end up. He reaches out to hold my hand and tells me he is sorry for my loss but it was time for me to find peace.
"Fine, I'm play your stupid game." I mumble not happy about this at all. I didn't want to accept that I was dead. I couldn't be. Maybe I'm just in a coma and this is a coma dream or something.

"Thank you... look souls can be interesting and well just because this life is over doesn't mean that you might not see them in the next?" I said not sure if i was doing okay in trying to be there for her.
We walk back to the bar and it looks like Cata is still strangely calm right now. Does she really not remember? I mean the first three encounters she's panicked and freaked out a lot.

He thanks me for agreeing to play and says that souls can be interesting. That just because this life is over doesn't mean I can't see them in the next one.
"If my soul is worth of seeing a next one." I mumble as we walk back to the bar. The other girl seem chill just drinking and stacking shot glasses as the other bartender cleans a few.
"So I guess we are playing this game of theirs." I tell her plopping down on a bar stool.

"Yeah... now we're playing as if our souls depended on it." I tell her when she came right next to me and she seemed to have cried a bit. I reached out and just held her hand.
"I don't know what's going on but... I'm here if you want to talk." I tell her before i looked over at the bartenders that were looking at us.
"Without these two monitoring us." I tell her.

The other girl reaches out to hold my hand and tells me she doesn't know what is going on but she is here to talk if I want to talk. Of course without those two monitoring us.
"Thanks." I say softly squeezing her hand. "I'll keep that in mind."
"Are you two ready to play?" The other bartender asks.
(What game do we want them to play?)
