Christian | 2 comments So I got this book around last year at a library in Minneapolis and cant find it. Its about a story where teens, seemingly aged 14-18, are suddenly taken by a burning "mist" type entity that transports them to an island naked. The story is about a girl who was recently taken. She struggles alone for a few days and is found by the main group later, who takes her in and sorta explains the concept that within a year they just disappear or straight up die. Theres supposedly no way off the island other than another "mist" that they have to jump into but apparently its very painful and the main character didnt know so she avoided it. The others have tried surfing and traveling to no success.

I ended at the part where a guy was recently brought, just nasty, and ended up being killed by a wild hog or boar after trying to run off.

The "mist" is either a regular looking foggy mist or, if my memory is correct, it looks like it has claws as you get closer. I actually dont remember.

The story has a Maze Runner 'how did we end up here and why' feel to it. Except the characters have a memory about who they are and what theyve done. It seems to be very modern time, with characters taken from around the globe.

I think it came up earlier this month, too.
