Randy Money | 432 comments I've read the novella 2 or 3 times, enjoyed it but was never fully satisfied. Something doesn't quite gel and I guess trying to figure out what is why I read it so often. I'm curious about the TV show. It might right whatever it was that didn't work for me in the story.

Daffy True (shasarazad) | 42 comments Horror in space is my favorite, so I hope this delivers. Not sure which trailer they have in that blog since it's blocked in Sweden, but I checked some on YT and was not impressed. I've learned you shouldn't put your trust in trailers though.

Nancy (paper_addict) | 812 comments Never read the story but the trailer Corinne posted looks interesting. I would watch it.

Nancy (paper_addict) | 812 comments Is it worth reading before the syfy show comes out?

message 6: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (paper_addict) | 812 comments The library has it. So I have time to think about it.

Nicos | 123 comments Huh. I remember the one from the 80's on HBO and getting freaked out about it as a kid.

Thanks for posting the link to the giveaway.

Erin (ems84) | 9068 comments It seems to be the trend with Syfy lately, they also did that with their series Channel Zero during Halloween. With that one, it was only five or six episodes.

Nancy (paper_addict) | 812 comments Thanks for the DVR reminder. I got it set to record now.

Nancy (paper_addict) | 812 comments I don’t watch anything as it airs anymore. If I don’t record it, I don’t watch it! LOL

message 12: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9068 comments I can't remember the last show I watched live. Even if I don't remember to record something and I hear about it, 99% of the time I can find it On Demand.

The first episode was pretty interesting. Unfortunately I got distracted at time so missed some of the plot, but for now I plan to keep watching.

message 14: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9068 comments I've watched the first two episodes. I think it's good so far, I'll keep watching.

message 15: by Michael (new)

Michael Foster I watched the first two episode and I've got the next two recorded. I'm liking it so far, but the storytelling feels like it's stretching out the plot. Granted I never read the original novella, so maybe it's sticking to the book pretty well. It also feels a bit too much like Event Horizon. I love that movie, but I hope this feels like its own thing.

message 16: by Michael (new)

Michael Foster Ok, I'll have to watch the 3 & 4 episodes tonight.

Erin (ems84) | 9068 comments I was wondering where I knew him from!

He also appeared in Mad Max: Fury Road as "The Organic Mechanic", part of Immortan Joe's crew.

message 20: by Valerie (new)

Valerie | 5 comments Have been binge watching the episodes. Wish I had read the book before. For the most part I didn't find it confusing. That is until we find out the L1 is not responsible for the ship malfunctioning, but the mother's consciousness, of the current Captain, has been uploaded into the ship.

Also didn't understand the violent grief response of a cynical man that had been a loner until he met his wife.
