I just finished reading this today, and wow! I definitely think this is a Printz contender. Has anyone else read it?

I usually love his books and I couldn't get through it. I found it pretty scattered - baseball! unrequited love! lost letters! etc... I didn't love Solo either - his voice and the urgency of his text gets lost for me in this partnership with Mary Rand Hess.
I also hated this book and didn't like Solo either. It was scattered and disjointed and I found the plot incredibly lacking.
