D.R. (drshoultz) | 16 comments Any interest in another mystery review group? I have a new book out "At the River's Edge" and I'm interested. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...

Nadishka Aloysius | 107 comments I have one but it's for middle grade. I don't know how well it will fit here but I'll add it in anyway
Petscapade

Laurel Heidtman (kylaurel) | 92 comments I'm interested. Mine is the third in a series, but all the books can be read as standalones.

Alistair Potter | 175 comments How about a Science Fiction murder mystery in an unusual 'small town' community?

Perax Frontier by Alistair Potter Perax Frontier

"Perax Frontier, a place like no other! Bathed in the constant glow of the Interface connecting two Universes, the frontier townships of Praxton, and Millaki on the Atlathian side, function without any electrically based technologies. Set against this unusual background, and fighting the hierarchal restrictions of Imperial society, Sheriff Artur Perax investigates the murder of Imperial Ambassador, Madam Lintsa Kroft. And all the time still keeping order among the visitors, frustrated scientists, religious fanatics, misfits, reformed felons and plain good folks who keep the flow of trade goods moving across the Interface."

(I'm happy to drop out if this doesn't 'fit the brief'.)

I hope it does "fit the brief." I'd love to read it. It sounds a little like the TV show, Defiance, and I loved that.

Laurel Heidtman (kylaurel) | 92 comments Looks like we have six people interested. Is that enough to start the group?

K.T. Munson | 278 comments Hello all!

Could it be written like a mystery? I have a fantasy novel full of intrigue that is supposed to keep the reader guessing. Its been in other mystery groups as long as other members agree. ☺️

Blurb:
The sliver of moonlight cast eerie shadows across the deck of The Dark Revenge. The Silence at the helm stood embracing the obscurity. His foreboding presence matched the anticipation aboard the ship, and no one spoke for fear they would break the stillness that encompassed them. Tonight, everything changed. The Dark Revenge gained on the Regatta. The raiders said nothing but he could hear the shuffle of taut female clothing and the tension in the air. It hadn’t sensed their existence, and drifted like heedless prey. Princess Roxana slept, unsuspecting of what was hunting her in the inky blackness of the night. There was only one thing on the minds of The Silence’s crew as they drew near; Hang the Kings, Crown the People.

Very much a pirate romp that’s full of plots twists you likely won’t see coming!

But I understand if it’s too far outside the genre. ☺️

D.R. (drshoultz) | 16 comments I’m fine with any and all of these books. KT has already reviewed my new book, At the River’s Edge, so we can’t exchange reviews in this pool.

message 11: by Nadishka (new)

Nadishka Aloysius | 107 comments I can't review KT either

message 12: by Bruce (new)

Bruce Perrin | 36 comments I have no issues with KT's book and I haven't read it.

I have read the book Laurel is submitting and a different book by Alistair, but no one else.

message 13: by Gregg (new)

Gregg Parker | 9 comments I haven't read anyone's books yet, and I imagine you haven't read mine, so I'm up for reading anything if this can be sorted out. Would love to get started!

message 14: by D.R. (new)

D.R. (drshoultz) | 16 comments I've looked at the review conflicts and put together two rounds of reviews with 6 of the books submitted. I left Nadishka's book out of the list because of the short length and being a middle-grade genre (Sorry)

I will submit my suggestion to the mods and see if they agree to proceed.

I hope there are no other conflicts on reciprocal reviews other than those already submitted.

K.T. Munson | 278 comments I think I’m going to be the problem. I’ve read DR, Alister’s book (I’m reading petscape too). I’ve also read Bruce but not this book and laurel but not this book. So my only non conflict is Greg.

Authors:

A review group for mysteries has been set up at:

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

To sign up, post the Goodreads links to your author page and your book page on that topic.

We will see who signs up, but if it is the same group as here KT may have to wait for another group..
