I am soooo far behind on my reading! My RL book group meets next Tuesday and I haven't yet started that book. So, I'll get to this one as soon as I finish that one!
That being said, I do hope people are enjoying it. If you have favorite quotes or passages, or a favorite side character, let's discuss!

I’ve finally started reading this last night. It’s ok, but I do have some minor issues with it. One of which is that Ethan wants no relationship between agents and the President. But that’s not usually how it works. I found this article about Obama and his Secret Service detail that mentions gift giving and watching football together: http://www.wsj.com/articles/bonds-wit...
Anyway, I’m not too far into it yet, so we’ll see how it goes. The fact that the ebook lumps the entire book, or most of it, into one “chapter” is really annoying since I like to see how long each chapter is. Oh well.

Doing more research on this and found that secret service agents often learn new hobbies in order to keep up with the President such as horse back riding and jogging. There’s a picture of secret service agents jogging with Clinton here: http://mentalfloss.com/article/93645/...
Which bothers me because this novel has Ethan claiming he can’t jog with the President and clearly he can.

If lack of realism bothers you... let's just say that you're in a for a very challenging read. ;)
I admit to enjoying this one a lot when I read it over a year ago, but I'm not inclined to a re-read (at least not yet).
Finished reading: February 22, 2017
Shelved as: action-thriller, as-plausible-as-opera, gay-mc, political-thriller, read
Review (notes): A political-action-adventure story as good or better than a lot of best-sellers, and with a gay MC/hero. Lots of intrigue, disasters, and (mostly off-page) blood and gore. Some improbable scenes (like the Oval Office climatic scene), but a great distraction from RL, even though the plot takes off from possible outcomes of RL current events. Happily moving on to books 1.5 and 2.
Funny thing is, I never went on to read 1.5 and 2... :)

I'm at 41% and so far it hasn't been terrible, except for the little bits I've already mentioned. However, at this point, the characters are getting a bit over dramatic, I think. I just had the Prague bar scene. :-P
I'm glad you liked it, Karen! I'll keep reading. Though it is interesting that you never moved on.

I admit, it boggles my mind those reviewers that commented on how it's too political. Except that, it's a story about the President. So, yeah, it should be political. I would think.

For real? People griped about it being too political? I think that's going to be my best laugh of the day!
Sometimes reviews are... strange. Like you really have to wonder where the reader's head is at. Of course I realize some people may have thought that very thing about me and my reviews. But still. ;)

Yes, I skimmed through the GR reviews looking for the low ratings just to see if anyone else was gripping about the same things as me. I'm the only one. But yeah, I didn't understand the "too political".

I’m now past 60% and we’ve now gotten into the action part of the game. OMG. Well, now it’s extra riveting. Hopefully I’ll finish it today!
Done.
I had some issues with it, but over all, I was glued to my seat while reading, and I did enjoy it quite a bit. 🙂

That's good to hear. Do you think you'll be continuing with the series? I know there's at least one more book.
Also want to add, I wish Jack had, even for one moment, considered he was bisexual, and not GFY, which is really weird to me. Technically, I think I’d term him biromantic greysexual, but what are labels really?
