Crystal So, I am starting this challenge very late in to the year, but so be it. Before I joined I had completed 40 books.

I am currently reading The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America. I will update when I am done.

40/45

Crystal Finished listening to A History of the World in 6 Glasses. It was an different way of looking at history and I enjoyed it.

Crystal 43/45 Done. Finished The Night Circus, I really enjoyed reading it.

Crystal 44/45 Done. I read Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World. I thought it was an easy read with short stories.

Crystal 45/45 Done. I finished Patient Care: Death and Life in the Emergency Room. It was a book I won here on GR. I don't know if it was a book I would have picked out for myself, but I thought it was a good read.

Crystal 46/45. Whiskey in a Teacup: What Growing Up in the South Taught Me About Life, Love & Baking Biscuits. While it was a decent book, I am glad that it was given to me and that I did not pay for it. I buy cookbooks and having seen this book in the cookbook section, if I were to buy it I would have been disappointed by the lack of recipes. Overall it was not a bad read, I just think that lacking.

Crystal 47/45, Power Your Happy: Work Hard, Play Nice & Build Your Dream Life by Lisa Sugar. I received this book a couple of years ago in a Popsugar Must Have Box and I thought about it when I was going through the 2019 Popsugar Reading Challenge for the "Sugar" prompt. But after seeing that Sugar was not in the title, I decided to get it over with and just read it now. I am not a big fan of these types of books. And while this book was ok, it didn't knock my socks off.

Crystal 48/45: The Screwtape Letters: includes Screwtape Proposes a Toast by C.S. Lewis. Not my favorite book, but not bad. Glad I got it done as it was on my shelf for awhile.

Crystal 49/45: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children In the end I thought this was a good book and I enjoyed it. That being said I did find it to be a slow moving for the majority until the end. Towards the end I was looking forward to seeing what was going to happen. I will find time to read the other books at some point. I am glad I was able to finish this book as there were times when I wanted to stop (and did stop for awhile). Part of my problem could be that I was trying to read it at work and could only read small portions at a time, which made the slow moving, even slower.

Crystal 50/45: Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know I thought it was a good book. It didn't wow me, but I did enjoy it. Having read this and The Lion in the Living Room: How House Cats Tamed Us and Took Over the World last year, I should have a good insight into my pets.

Susy (susysstories) Love the titles too. Have added them to my TBR!

Susy, I hope you enjoy them when you get to them.

Crystal 52/45: Relic of the Damned! It was short and entertaining, but it was not a great read.

Comorbidity: Expressions of Love This was the first book I have read like this. Maybe I am not a poem person. Also there really wasn't any capitalization, and that really bothered me.

Crystal 54/45: The Nephilim Called Hane I am trying to clean up some of the Kindle books that I have received from GR. This was a different book. I thought it was ok. I did not like the ending and was disappointed.

Big Mushy Happy Lump I really enjoyed this book. I could relate to it and I am looking forward to reading her other books.

Crystal 55/45: The Tao of Pooh I thought it was a good book. It was a good way to begin learning about Tao principles. I also enjoy Pooh Bear. I plan on reading the original Winnie The Pooh next year for a couple challenges, and this made me more excited to start.

Crystal 56/45: Wisconsin Vamp This was an ok book. It was a different way of portraying vampires. It was the best way I have seen someone turning into a vampire. (view spoiler).

I was reading this book for the December Advert Challenge. If it wasn't for that might have DNF it. But I did stick it out and in the end I am glad I finished it. I don't want to DNF books that I was given to review.

Crystal 57/45: Our Frail Disordered Lives. I thought this was a good book. I liked that a book written 700 years ago, was still causing so much problems for Roach the main demon.

message 21: by Crystal (new)

Crystal 58/45: My Friend Dahmer: I liked this book. I like reading about true crime, and this was a different way of telling that story. This one was a little different as it did not deal too much with the actual crimes, and told more of the beginning story as other people saw it.
