I think for this one I'll probably go with THE book that made me interested in reading for pleasure back when all my reading was assigned and that was: Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella! It will be fun to see how much my outlook on this book has changed over 15 or so years! xD

(Maybe combine it with the nostalgic one so I can read 2)

I'm planning on rereading the series next year as I haven't in a while. I've found a way to make all 7 fit.

I might do the same been a while since I read the entire series from start to finish. What else did you use?

I'm planning
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for an authors debut
-Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for imaginary creature (house elves and basilisk)
-Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for my reread
-Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for the puzzle or game one
-Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix for nostalgia (they're all nostalgic for me and this one and the next could be either or)
-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for over 1 million ratings
-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for a book that includes a wedding (Bill and Fleur)

The Scarlet Pimpernel
The Black Arrow
Double Star
And there are lots of others I could count, so we'll just see what I get to before the end of the year and what's left.

I used to NEVER re-read, but there was a reading challenge category that required it one year, and I discovered that I kind of enjoyed the experience. So I now have a list of 24 books I want to re-read, a mix of classics and old sci-fi. Not sure which one I'll read for this. Maybe The Shadow of the Torturer by Gene Wolfe

Emma
The Caves of Steel
The Eyes of the Dragon
Au bonheur des ogres

I tend to re-read this series slowly throughout the year or over a couple of years. I am currently on book 6. I'll probably steal your prompts :p

However I do keep saying I want to re-read the whole Women of the Otherworld series, with all the short stories in order. So maybe this will push me to start that. Bitten is the first book but there might be a prequel I should start with.

Also I read an annotated version of Pride and Prejudice a couple years ago and it was a nice way to re-read but get something new out of it! (I think it was 745 pages!!)

I'm thinking either To Kill a Mockingbird or The Handmaid's Tale or another book I had been thinking of reading again is Flowers in the Attic. I devoured this series when I was a kid but I have hesitated returning to it in case it doesn't live up to the memory...

The audiobook is a good shout!

I don´t do rereads often, either. But I am so old that there are some books I haven´t read since the last millennium ;)
Edit: I actually do some rereads, when I read for my youngest son...

I also am not a fan of rereads, but you gave me an idea that kinda is the opposite of this prompt. I have a few classics that I read when I was young that I hated, but I think I just didn't appreciate the style. I may reread one that I think will be a favorite if I give it another chance. In particular I'm thinking The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, or Les Misérables

I read The 3 Musketeers as an adult. Might I suggest you read one of the other two. Because I thought it was awful and I don't think you'll appreciate it any better, but of course, everyone's tastes are different.

There is the risk that a re-read might ruin a previously loved book! But if it's a book you didn't really "get" when you were younger, it can be a good experience (though maybe not with the Musketeers...).
I was forced to read The Great Gatsby and Catcher in the Rye when I was a teenager, and they both went over my head. I was more used to Babysitters Club, so it was too big a leap! But I re-read them when I was older, as I didn't want to write off books people were so passionate about. Gatsby in particular is now a personal favourite, and I enjoyed Catcher a lot too.

Maybe I'll give one of them a try and have Harry Potter on stand by just in case.

And now I've just seen someone mention Harry Potter... *sigh* Decisions, decisions...

This was a funny one!
My favorite by her is Can You Keep a Secret?

The Phoenix and the Carpet springs to mind. I remember nothing about it apart from what is in the title (e.g. a phoenix, a carpet and some children).
The Magic Faraway Tree is another but I have a feeling this might skew a bit young.
