Cyndy (cyndy-ksreader) | 133 comments I read Queen Sugar by Natalie Baszile. I enjoy watching the TV series based on this novel, so when it appeared on a Kindle sale I purchased it. I highly recommend both the book and the TV series. There are some major differences between the two, but they both stand on their own. Given that the TV series needs to have a life beyond the books time frame, some differences are expected. Go into each on their own merits and you shouldn't be disappointed in either.

Laurel (lmalialis) | 11 comments I'm planning to read The Whizz Pop Chocolate Shop by Kate Saunders for this one. I've heard the audiobook is really good.

Brianna Flores (disneywitch22) | 34 comments I was going to use Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire but I’m just not feeling Every Heart a Doorway and from what I hear the rest of the series is a hit and miss. So I ended up using Hop on Pop by Dr Seuss lol! That book was my saving grace lol.

Susanne | 22 comments I read A Dash of Trouble (book 1 of the Love Sugar Magic series by Anna Meriano). It's a very cute middle grade book about magic, baking, family and friendship. :)

It also fits into a couple of other categories:
12 - inspired by mythology, legend or folklore
18 - about someone with a super power
25 - debut novel
29 - "love" in the title
31 - book about a family
36 - A ghost story (Ghosts appear, but are not the main focus of the story.)
43 - own voices
44 - Read a book during the season it is set in (The book is set in fall)

This is the one I read too! It showed up as a "Mighty Girl" Pick and was on Kindle Unlimited - very quick and cute read.

Sarah Rhea | 10 comments Visions of Sugar Plums

Just finished this one. It's a quick 3 hour listen if you get the audiobook version. A fun story especially if you need a last minute book for the prompt.

Julie | 43 comments Anyone know of a graphic novel that would fit this prompt?

I read Sugar & Spike for this prompt

Jackie | 734 comments Man the title prompts had me struggling this year! I finally finished this one with Step Aside, Pops, which is a comic book collection full of history/literature/pop culture satire.

Jessica-sim | 0 comments This is the last one I need to fill but man... this prompt is so difficult! Haha thanks to all your suggestions I will go with Sugar Cookiee Murder just because it fits the time of year so well ;-)
(and because I like detective mysteries)

SadieReadsAgain (sadiestartsagain) | 767 comments I read The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More, by Roald Dahl. I've always loved Roald Dahl's children's books, when I was a kid and now that I'm a mother too. But the only of his adult fiction I'd read until now was My Uncle Oswald, which made me deeply uncomfortable and left a bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't keen to read more of his adult stuff, but I'd bought a box set of it and the other books have been languishing on my shelves for seven years, so I picked this up. So, so much better than Oswald! These short stories are all really strong, with that familiar Dahl way of seeing the world which works equally as well in more adult topics as it does for his younger audience. I think the most striking story for me was The Swan, a tale of bullies and their unfortunate animal and human victims, but there really wasn't a weak story in the bunch.
