Highway to the Stars: The Beginning by B.E. Wilson

On the very day he was fired, John Kemp came home to find his wife in bed with another man. Can a man have a worse day? Yes, it got worse from there! He had lost his job, family, home, and car. But, they failed to take one thing… his dream to reach for the stars.
From the first few chapters, I was hooked into the protagonist John. My heart ached for him so I had to read to see how it turned out.
As I read farther, I was introduced to the rest of the characters one by one. Some of them I instantly liked. Others.. I despised their personality or instantly did not trust. Needless to say, I obviously wasn't the best judge of character as I had one pegged completely wrong!
One very notable character is old Uncle Garrett. I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the old coot out behind the barn and put him out of his misery or if I'd rather take him along fishing because he was so hilarious.
In comes the comic relief..and I do mean side splitting humor as the guys are on the run being chanced by the posse of misfits. I almost..almost..felt sorry for them. (ok, maybe a little because they were idiots lol)
The adventure unfolds, the big discovery is made, and the rest I can't share without giving away spoilers. There is just enough fact mixed with imagination to make this an easy and enjoyable read.
It's no secret I am a fan of B.E. Wilson, but hopefully the above explains why. He has a talent for telling a story that keeps readers entertained. I am sharing my personal opinion of the book only.
