Halvor (Raknes) | 4772 comments add author: Platon

Halvor (Raknes) | 4772 comments can the accent on the author name be dropped? We don't use that in Norwegian.

The same with https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Seems like it won't go away. :-(

Alex | 2736 comments If I'm not mistaken, Goodreads can't disambiguate one-author names, or between same-space profiles where the only difference is the accent. So fixing this for the Norwegian editions means breaking it for the editions that use the accented version.

Halvor (Raknes) | 4772 comments It's hardly only Norwegian that spells his name without the accent. In fact, almost all the Northern and Eastern European languages, including German and French. Very few use the current spelling.

Abcdarian | 26579 comments There's also a photographer in the mix who doesn't use the accent.

Renske | 12223 comments Single-name author can be separated, see this change from last year: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Alex | 2736 comments The scales have fallen from my eyes! Thank you Renske! I've disambiguated these books to Platon . as per this policy.

message 10: by Abcdarian (new)

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Thanks Renske; I thought that had happened, but couldn't seem to find it in the manual.

Halvor (Raknes) | 4772 comments Can we also have a separate profile for this photographer?

Halvor (Raknes) | 4772 comments Thank you!

Arenda | 26447 comments Update about Platon/Platón:

On the Platón profile, there are books that should actually be on the Platon profile. I'll work on those.
I've switched the Platon and Platón profile to make the Platon profile the default and Platón secondary.

Now that is a very sensible move! Thanks Arenda.

Halvor (Raknes) | 4772 comments Thank goodness! I cringed at the other one. Let the photographer deal with it ;-)
