M.G. King (mgking) | 727 comments What's everyone reading these days?

I finished reading Jacob Have I Loved, which had been on my list for awhile. Paterson is a brilliant writer. This work is a painfully honest exploration of identity and sibling relationships. She creates such an authentic emotional world in her writing!

I didn't do a lot of reading in July, as I was hiking all month. But I finished a couple of middle grade books. . . The best was Bravo Victor Bravo Victor (The Princelings of the East, #6) by Jemima Pett . It even kept me up a little bit after a long day of hiking, and believe me, that wasn't easy!

Cheryl (cherylllr) I'm a huge fan of Katherine Paterson. too.

I did enjoy several classics, as I do regularly, but none got five stars. The best book, that might be on the to-read lists of some of you members, was Rules by Cynthia Lord I loved that we met other kids with other challenges, not just the little brother of the mc.

Esther | 4 comments No new post created for August yet but I would like to recommend one of my son's favorite reads this month: American Born Chinese American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang . It's a graphic novel.
