The Best book I read in JULY was . . .

I didn't do a lot of reading in July, as I was hiking all month. But I finished a couple of middle grade books. . . The best was Bravo Victor
. It even kept me up a little bit after a long day of hiking, and believe me, that wasn't easy!

I did enjoy several classics, as I do regularly, but none got five stars. The best book, that might be on the to-read lists of some of you members, was Rules by Cynthia Lord I loved that we met other kids with other challenges, not just the little brother of the mc.

I finished reading Jacob Have I Loved, which had been on my list for awhile. Paterson is a brilliant writer. This work is a painfully honest exploration of identity and sibling relationships. She creates such an authentic emotional world in her writing!
