SciFi and Fantasy Book Club discussion

Looks like Margaret Atwood will publish a sequel to The Handmaid's Tale:

Part of me is excited. The other part is all: "What if it's not as good as the first???"

I was wondering if it would be in line with where they took the tv series.....

I haven't seen the second season yet, but I guess it's very possible.

I'm very excited about this- I've been hoping for a sequel (or at least a series of short stories) since the original came out. And thankfully she's said that it has nothing to do with the TV show.

My guess is not, there are rumblings that she wasn't very happy with where the TV show took off to after the source material wasexhausted

I always thought the way the first book ended worked really well - it leaves you thinking. So I kind of hope the new one will only be peripherally connected to the first. The 15-year gap and multiple POVs sound good, though.

I'm excited! I think this one is going on my pre-order list, just have to decide whether I'm going to go for hardback or audio.
