Great Middle Grade Reads discussion

SaraKat and C.J. have been pressganged volunteered to become Moderators for the Group.

Please join Rebecca and me in welcoming them to the team.

As from January, SaraKat will take on the busy job of looking after the Book of the Month nominations, polls and discussions.

C.J. will look after the new Challenges for the year, and also the discussions on Best Books I Read... thread.

And we'll all be welcoming members, sorting out problems if any, and generally enjoying life with the group. Rebecca and I will be lurking to zap spammers, and other tidying and policing-type duties. We're both doing some fairly substantial life changes at the moment, so we're very grateful to our two new moderators for taking some of the strain.

I hope you both enjoy your new roles!

I think those jobs are backwards! But it doesn't matter, it'll all get done. :) I look forward to giving back to a group that has given me some great reading experiences.

Thanks also - very much so our current moderators who haven’t stepped down but continue to support us all - building a middle grade reading (and thinking) culture around the globe. I really appreciate you all!

Thank you for taking on what must be a very big job. I like this genre and this group very much, although I no longer have enough time to give to middle grades reading as I once had.

I never post —but I check here regularly for book ideas for my fourth grade classroom. I truly appreciate the group and suggestions. Thanks all. I just finished The Girl who Drank the Moon and Greenglass House ( don’t know if that was ever a read here ) and loved them both.

Yes, we've read both of those, relatively recently.

You can find books we've read as Book of the Month list in the Book of the Month thread, and individual discussion threads in the same section (for about six months) and the Archive Book of the Month after that.

Nice of you to drop in and tell us, but can I remind people to find 'appropriate' places to post even the nicest of messages :)

This thread was about our new moderators!

'Appropriate' might have been in 'general discussions', or even 'best book I read since...'

Hi, MG! So good to see you! I've been away most of the last year, just kind of popping in and out (one reason we had to find more Mods) as we've been traveling. That isn't really going to change anytime soon--retirement happened, and we are bent on seeing as much of the world as we can, in as much depth as we can :)

Greetings everyone, and thanks for letting me take some time off.
I even curtailed my blogging for a while too.

I’ve written the two last books in my series, and now I’m in editing mode. But the thing that has been distracting me most has been trying to sell my house. I’ve finally got a buyer, so things will continue to be topsy turvy for a while.

But I hope to spend more time here now.

If you’ll let me of course ;)
