Finishing the cat trilogy by Lynn Kerstan. Thanks Manda!
Then I may read The Hidden Blade or more Kerstan or Designated Daughters by Margaret Maron...gonna be a good week.
On the side rereading the Desperate Duchesses series. Does anyone know which heroines were added to get from four to six books? One was Eleanor but what was the other?

I'm on vacation in Minnesota for the week and working on the end of book 3 and starting book 4 of the Outlander series.(voyager & drums of autumn) so I totally love it though!!!!

Thanks, Theresa! I missed this earlier:)

#1 Desperate Duchesses - Lady Roberta St. Giles & Damon Reeve, Earl of Gryffyn (2007)
#2 An Affair Before Christmas - Lady Perdita (Poppy) & Duke of Fletcher (2007)
#3 Duchess by Night - Harriet, Duchess Berrow & Lord Justinian Strange (2007)
#4 When the Duke Returns - Lady Isidore & Simeon Jermyn, Duke of Cosway (2008)
#5 This Duchess of Mine - Jemma & Elijah, Duke and Duchess of Beaumont (2009)
#6 A Duke of Her Own - Lady Eleanor & Leopold Dautry, Duke of Villiers (2009)
The background, as far as I can remember, goes like this:
Jemma, the Duchess of Beaumont, has a house party attended by Roberta, Poppy, Harriet, Isidore, and Villiers. Villiers is injured and the wound becomes very infected. He is sick for months, near death's door. It is the Yule season and his friends ( I remember Poppy, Harriet, Isidore, & Jemma being there) take him out to another house party out in the country so he can see a good doctor, not one of those quacks in London. Poppy and her husband, who had been estranged, focus on their relationship. Meanwhile Harriet decides that her life is boring, and she wants to go to the constant party at the home of the notorious Lord Strange. Villiers insists he is well enough to go with her, as he can convalesce anywhere. So Harriet, dressed as a boy, Villiers, and Isidore end up at Lord Strange's den of debauchery. Simeon Jermyn, Duke of Cosway, shows up to take his wife away. Back to London where Elijah and Jemma decide to work on their marriage. At one point, perhaps toward the end, they go to a party celebrating the restoration go the Roman baths in London. Villiers is there and meets Eleanor. She agrees to go with him to track down Lisette, the lady Villiers wants to marry.
I don't know if they were all planned from the beginning or not. I know that i didn't fond Isidore and Cosway's story all that interesting, as it felt a bit awkward and contrived.

Oh I know the series well. But I believe at the beginning it was supposed to be 4 books. Then she decided not to kill off Elijah and marry Jemma to Villiers so that meant 5 bookS--basically adding one for Villiers and Eleanor. What I am wondering about is which other one was not initially planned?
And Three Weeks makes it 7 ....

Yes, and I'm pretty sure she said so at one point. I was also confused about Roberta and Damian but since they came first...
The other possibility is that Jemma and Villiers were not supposed to have their own book but instead happen as a secondary romance through the other four.

Guys I am not meaning to butt in on the conversation above but can I just warn you about Spoilers. I have read some of Julia's Quinn's books and I know Eloisa James's Books have been out for ages but I have not read any of her work yet (I know what am I thinking just have not got round to it yet but just by skimming down to the bottom of the page I have caught a few spoilers of the duchess series) I want to read her work in order of publication and do plan on starting her work at some point this year but just wanted to warn you just in case other members have the same issue. I am not trying to make an issue of this just trying to mention that some board members due to lack of time might not have caught up on Eloisa's amazing work yet :).

I am going to read We“ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han (library book) next the final book in the summer I turned pretty trilogy which I am really looking forward to :).
