Hi Nikki!

Sorry for the delayed response. As you astutely noted - - moving, lol! So, participation points are calculated and entered into the sheet around the first of each month. So if you wrote a review for the December tag, then you will see the points reflected when you look at the participation points sheet in January.

Which basically is a long winded way of saying, that next month you will see yourself on the sheet, and you will have more than one point with which to vote!

We always love to see you, Becky, whenever you can participate, but I love the enthusiasm for 2019!!

I liked Mindset but I don't recall that it had anything about parenting. Though I suppose a parent might be able to teach some of the ideas to their children.

It's funny that we're all looking for parenting books just in case, even though we're not expecting it to win. I guess that's part of the fun.

Thanks Anita! After a bit of thought (& inspired by Amy) I voted for the one that I thought would take me furthest out of my comfort zone - it seems I'm an oddity here, because for me that wasn't parenting but action & adventure.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11090 comments I have a question about the action&adventure tag. I have quite a few thrillers on my TBR list that also have an action or action&adventure tag, but the action shelf was used by fewer people. One had about 500 thriller vs 50 action/adv, another was about 50 to 5). Is it safe to assume that's good enough?

If you think it fits, it's good. The only time we're super strict is when there's a game involved and then if even ONE person has tagged the book with that particular tag, then it's fair game.

Part of the reason I enjoy this group so much is getting recommendations from everyone else, especially for a tag I wouldn't normally read!

Thanks, Anita! 2019 is going to be my best reading-year yet! =D

Joni | 626 comments Ok this has been a super long month. Some how I got it in my head that the January tag had already been announced and I already have my book picked out. My friend Ellen reminded me today....that I am early. Oops. Well hopefully the book I picked “wins”.

I agree. There are books on parenting your parent, and books about caregivers. I'm taking care of my mother and it can be very stressful, especially because she has a trach tube. As she became more dependent, she struggled to hang on to whatever control and autonomy she could.
