Dear Reader, I'm sorry to say that the book you are holding in you hands is extremely unpleasant.It tells an unhappy tale about three very unlucky children.Even though they are charming and clever,the Baudelaire siblings lead lives filled with misery and woe.

Starting today (19th August)

Up to and including chapter 6: (view spoiler)[ I'm really liking this! I hate how blunt Mr Poe is though!

"Your parents have perished in a terrible fire" real subtle.

This book doesn't feel that much like a little kids book and I'm loving how fast paced it is! Count Olaf sucks. He hit Klaus! :o (hide spoiler)]

I have read this in one sitting so here's my thought

So I finished this in one sitting cause it's not really that long and here's what I thought

okay, I'm kinda thinking that they're bringing the unfortunate events to themselves because tbh the kids are really not thinking well sometimes although they are really smart for a kid but yeah most of the times they are dumb, also Mr. Poe. I hate him even from the start. (hide spoiler)]

I haven't looked at the spoiler yet because I'm only on chapter three but I'm guessing you didn't like this one Princess?

(view spoiler)[ Ugh, I kind of agree that this one sucks. Mostly because of the disjointed dialogue and awkward scenes. I felt like not much happened until Monty died which wasn't until like half way through. I still thought it was worth 3 stars but it's a dramatic difference to the first in my opinion (hide spoiler)]

So since u guys both finished the second book already did you wanna start The Wide Window early? It's up to you, I'm ok with starting earlier or keep it how it is and start on the 10th. Lmk.

I hate that Lemony Snicket tells you spoilers right after something big has happened. (view spoiler)[ 'I cannot tell the Baudelaire orphans that they are wrong, but I can tell you, as the orphans cry in Mr Poe's arms, that Aunt Josephine is not dead. (hide spoiler)] Ugh, what is up with that??

I'm now starting to realize that hey if you're a kid who's tired of happy ending you should read this because I think if you read between the lines there will be some life lessons (hide spoiler)]

I felt there was much more adventure thrown into this book and the Baudelaire orphans were really good when dealing with all the different situations they were put in. I love how Lemony Snicket has such a Unique writing style and voice. I can tell it's this book even if I didn't know the title I'd know it was part of this series lol.

Have u guys seen the movie? The movie covers the plot of the first three books, so I kinda know what happens, the big parts at least. :)

Adriana: Haha, it took me till the end of the book. Something just clicked inside my brain and I started laughing to myself :D Simple things.

Diamond: I've seen the movie, I think I preferred it. Mostly because Jim Carrey is a pretty awesome actor. I think it's rare to find a book that's totally unique, that's why I rated the first book so highly. :) How far have you got so far?

Amy, I loved the movie too! Jim Carrey was the perfect Count Olaf.

I thought this was OK, not great. I feel like the plot keeps repeating itself :( If the next book doesn't ever off a bit and do something different, I think I'm gonna lose it! Haha I did like the setting of this more too.
