I have heard rumors of Faulkner being tough to read. Maybe that he is a bit dry? This will be my first Faulkner so I am looking forward to finding out.

This is one I read in high school and I don't remember caring for it, but I think that's because of Benjy's narrative being so tough to follow. I started this yesterday and it's not as bad as I remember (plus a little bit of an online refresher helped!!).

After getting to Quentin's narrative, I realize I've been combining my memories of this book with As I Lay Dying! I guess that's what 25+ years and some misspent youth does to a person's memories, ha! And I have a feeling this is the book that developed my dislike for stream of consciousness writing. I'll eventually finish it, it's just not at the top of my reading list at the moment

Basically, if this had been required reading in high school, reading may have been ruined for me forever!

I am around 130 pages in and, maybe it is because I am getting used to it, but I am starting to understand a bit more.
I have had Shmoop open constantly throughout!

Closing in on the end of the book - it has definitely improved as the book has gone on. I am feeling a strong foreboding as I near the end!
Finished - I am on the fence on this one, but already have some interesting conversation about it on my review:
