message 3: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Hello Jonathan :-) . On my last book of series i am currently reading, so i be easily ready in time for the buddy read

message 4: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments I invited some friends but it might just be us this time around. When we do the Joe Hill buddy read we might get more participants I think.

message 5: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Ok Jonathan, i started book last night just to get ball rolling. New years night so not going to get any reading done today. So wish you a happy new year my friend. We can start buddy read 2nd January.

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments That is awesome. So far this is not my favorite Brian Keene crossover book but I am going to keep a open mind for sure ;-)

message 7: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments started book Jonathan, i can see that the two authors were going for the pulp, fantasy feel. The story is very much like Conan series. Though there are lots of links to Brian Keenes Labyrinth world. Even mentions The 13 and Leviathan.

message 8: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments its true Jonathan, Rogan is a bit of a chaotic character. Bit of a anti hero, brave and ruthless.

message 9: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments I finished the audiobook today. ( I do a lot of driving) Surprisingly it is barely a 5 hour listen

message 10: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments i can tell its not a long story as every chapter the percentage of read on my kindles goes up quickly, kinda fits with its pulpy action theme.

message 11: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments keep feeling like clickers should be appearing in the book for some reason :-D

message 12: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments do you want to start the sequel or wait till i finished king of bastards Jonathan ? i saw your review, started reading it but stopped as want to finish book first myself

message 13: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments Yeah. It would of been awesome if the Clickers were in this book. I finished it in a couple of days. I am looking forward to your review Mehmet. Unfortunately I don’t see myself reading the sequel to this book. I just didn’t like it at all. It is probably my least favorite Brian Keene book of all time. :-(

message 14: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments sorry I am reading a bit slow Jonathan. I think i will read the sequel after. I will post a review after and give my thoughts. Should be able to finish this weekend as got a bit time off work.

message 15: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments just finished book today Jonathan. wrote my review. I started the sequel. think there may be clickers in this one !! Why don' t you choose our next buddy read to make up for your disappointment ?

message 16: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments Hey buddy. I am glad you liked this one better then me. Here is a list of suggestions for you when you finish the sequel.

1. Mark Tufo’s Zombie Fallout series
2. Hugh Howey’s Wool trilogy
3. Dean Koontz’s Odd Thomas series
4. Yesterday Gone series

Out of all of them I vote for Odd Thomas or Yesterday Gone because I know the least about those two. I heard that Zombie Fallout has a lot of out of date pop culture references. I think I might not enjoy that one as much.

message 17: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments i would like to go for Odd Thomas Jonathan. How would you like to organise this buddy read. Did you want to try and go through whole series. Or try one and see how we like it ?

message 18: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments Odd Thomas sounds good. We should try one book and see how we all enjoy it. If it ends up being a series we really don’t like then we should stop after the first book. :-)

If we both love it then let’s do the whole series!

message 19: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments ok Jonathan, you want me to set up the thread and stuff ?

message 20: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments Hey. I invited a few people that have liked my reviews in the past. I am hoping to get some people to join this time. You can definitely set up a thread. I am excited to set a date to give people time to join and buy the book

message 21: by Mehmet (new)
