Around the Year in 52 Books discussion

Where exactly do the books I read originate from? On some level, I already pay attention to this, but for the last year or two I've been thinking that I should a) keep track of the countries that I "read" and b) diversify my reading more.

I've already planned for my 2019 reading to include more (Canadian) indigenous content; now for the longer term, I'm going to track my world reading.

Part of this challenge is figuring out how to divided up the world. Why do people always leave out Antartica? I've decided (for better or worse) to (mostly) divide this up by geographic region, not continents. This will probably confuse me at some point.

Honestly, these two are my lowest priority to track. Books read by province? The point of this is to track the foreign books above, not the domestic ones the Canadian market is flooded with.

Gora - Bengali fiction. Today, Bengal is divided between the nation of Bangladesh and the state of West Bengal, India. One reviewer on GR called this a profoundly Indian novel, so... India it is!

The above list has sent me down a rabbit hole. I got it from a site that doesn't actually list the Caribbean countries, but lists Jersey as a European country... I had never heard of any Jersey other than the *new* one. And the cow breed.

How many hairs do I split? And, my geography isn't as good as I thought it was.

I wasn't sure how to go about the geography either so I ended up copying from others and tweaking it as any discrepancies arose, like missing the Canadian Territories!

It is definitely about the books so don't stress too much and good luck with the challenge!
