Read and review Scottish books then share your thoughts...

Challenge runs January 1 to December 31, 2021.

To count for the challenge, books must be set in Scotland, about Scotland or written by a Scot (by birth or immigration). Any genre - from historical fiction, to sci-fi, to autobiography - any Scottish literature book. Poetry, short-stories and essays count.

Pick a level you want to sign up for - you can start small and aim bigger later in the year...

Start a thread in your chosen folder and say hello! List all the Scottish books you read (between 1st Jan - 31st Dec) to keep track and let us know how you're getting on. We love to hear what you're reading, your thoughts about the book, what you recommend and how your doing at achieving your goal! You can also add your books to our bookshelf.

Join in our group discussions as we choose and read books together. See the Group Reads threads where we'll nominate books, vote on a poll, and then read the winning book for two months.

You can choose to join in with everything or pick and choose what suits you best.

Books recommendations are always welcome! Enjoy!

If you need help starting a thread/topic for your books - comment below or give me a message. I'll quickly run through it for those who are new:

Choose which challenge level you want to try. E.g: 'Robert Burns: 6-10 Books'. This means you're aiming to read at least six to ten books with a Scottish link this year.

To join in, start a thread/topic. Click on the the folder, for example, 'Robert Burns: 6-10 Books', which will usually be in green. Once you've clicked on that, you'll see people's thread/topic about their challenge.

Click on the top right of the screen where it says 'new topic'. Add a title, maybe with your name. (For example, 'Andy Murray's Scottish Reads While I'm Not Playing Tennis'.)

Write a comment, to start it off, where you can hint at what books you've got lined up or just say hi!

That's your challenge space set up. Here you can list all your Scottish reads and let us know what you're enjoying (and what you're not!). I number my books so I can keep track of where I am.

Other members sometimes comment on other people's thread/topic. This can be a really good way of interacting with others in the group. If you're excellent at tennis, but not so good at chatting, then let us know and we'll leave you be.

That's it! Enjoy :)
