Just an idea on themes, feel free to comment with a genre or idea I haven't thought of yet. To start us off, I've picked Sci-Fi/Dystopian for January and February which I'll set up in the New Year...
Last year we had some excellent books under the rough genre's: history, fiction, crime fiction, classics, biographies/memoirs. November and December will always be a Wild Card option where members can suggest any style of book. I'm also happy to visit a theme again, such as 'Tartan Noir' or 'Historical Scotland' :)
Thanks, Ellen

I was hoping someone would want to revisit that theme! There's so many possibilities. I'll add it to this year's list :)

Haha, I just signed in to suggest this theme, you beat me to Susan. :)

It'll be interesting to see the suggestions for this one, it's such a wide ranging topic.
I'll suggest a theme and ask you to think up a book (with a Scottish link, of course!) that you would like the group to read.
Suggest your book in the nominations thread (if you can, use the HTML to link the book and author to avoid confusion). Please only one nomination per person under the months' theme. (I know it's hard!) Only books suggested in the nomination threads will be added in the poll.
When the books have been nominated, I'll set up a poll where you can vote for your favourite. Polls can be found on the Homepage and under 'Polls'.
The book to receive the most votes wins and I'll set up a thread to discuss it. (If there's a tie, they may be two group reads that month, and you can pick and choose which one to join in.)
Join in the discussion, adding your thoughts, likes and dislikes, star rating, and favourite quotes. This year, we'll try a Spoiler Thread too, so you can talk about the juicy plot-twists straightaway without worrying about spoiling it for other readers!
I'll message you when we're looking for nominations, when the poll is live, and which book won the poll with links to all the places you need to be to join in!
We read some fantastic books last year in Read Scotland 2018 so I'm excited for what this year will bring...!
