by Stephen DobynsA scam artist fraud and the murder of a motorcyclist are at the center of this comical mystery. Plenty of fun, but the jokes get repetitive. 3 stars

Just finished The Big Get-Even
by Paul Di FilippoThe spirit of the much-loved and departed Donald Westlake is alive and well in this book. Comic caper story--great characters and plot, lots of fun. Highly recommended.
Finished reading/listening to In Cold Blood (audio and ebook) on my trip to Seattle. Wow wow wow. What a well written book. Took me a long time to get to it, but the audio book helped me get into it.Now reading Marathon Man (#71 of Amazon 100 Mysteries) and The Innocent by Harlan Coben. I think I have read it before but not sure.

Watch the movie capote with Philip Seymour Hoffman. Very good movie.

by Michael ConnellyIn this addition to the 'Harry Bosch' series, the LAPD detective reluctantly helps his brother Mickey Haller (The Lincoln Lawyer) defend a man accused of murder. Very good mystery. 4 stars

A Darkness More than night by Michael Connelly
Just finished River of Darkness
by Rennie AirthPolice procedural, set in England 1921, featuring a shell-shocked Scotland Yard detective, John Madden. Very well written book, finalist for several awards. I liked it, but I didn't love it. Really didn't need to be almost 400 pages. I felt like I was moving along a bit faster than the cops.
