I like this series and both of the TV versions, although I prefer Ken Stott as Rebus...."

I prefer Ken Stott also. He fits the image in my mind from the books. 🙂

A scam artist fraud and the murder of a motorcyclist are at the center of this comical mystery. Plenty of fun, but the jokes get repetitive. 3 stars

The spirit of the much-loved and departed Donald Westlake is alive and well in this book. Comic caper story--great characters and plot, lots of fun. Highly recommended.

Gretchen | 0 comments Finished reading/listening to In Cold Blood (audio and ebook) on my trip to Seattle. Wow wow wow. What a well written book. Took me a long time to get to it, but the audio book helped me get into it.

Now reading Marathon Man (#71 of Amazon 100 Mysteries) and The Innocent by Harlan Coben. I think I have read it before but not sure.

I liked In Cold Blood but for some reason just couldn't see the point of it.

What really got me interested in the story is the story of capote so research and how it became an obsession for him. Watch the movie capote with Philip Seymour Hoffman. Very good movie.

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 9979 comments The Crossing The Crossing (Harry Bosch, #18; Mickey Haller, #6; Harry Bosch Universe, #27) by Michael Connelly by Michael Connelly

In this addition to the 'Harry Bosch' series, the LAPD detective reluctantly helps his brother Mickey Haller (The Lincoln Lawyer) defend a man accused of murder. Very good mystery. 4 stars

Araych | 678 comments Just finished River of Darkness River of Darkness (John Madden, #1) by Rennie Airth by Rennie Airth

Police procedural, set in England 1921, featuring a shell-shocked Scotland Yard detective, John Madden. Very well written book, finalist for several awards. I liked it, but I didn't love it. Really didn't need to be almost 400 pages. I felt like I was moving along a bit faster than the cops.
