Seriously? Me, not read a book? I even read Death of a bloody Salesman and Billy fricking Budd, so lmtfa. Perhaps I should read one of those books that everybody but me seems to have read in school but my teachers never assigned. But I've probably already read them.

Cheryl (6of8) | 247 comments David Copperfield. Wrote a paper on the thing in undergrad but never read it. Still has no appeal.
The books that were required that I quit part of the way through are not ones that I will ever revisit. Both of them I threw across the room and contemplated burning because I hated them so much.

In grad school, there were a lot of books that we were assigned portions of, and I bet if I go through those shelves, I'll find some I never read completely.

Laura | 144 comments There were no books I was assigned but did read, but I know many people who read All Quiet on the Western Front during their schooling and this was the first time for me.

I went with The Tragedy of Pudd'nhead Wilson. I read an excerpt for my Holmesian Investigative Techniques class in grad school and wrote my paper on the history of fingerprint analysis, but I never did follow up and read the entire story.

Mary Arkless | 153 comments Well, I read everything that was asked of me at school, and everything that was suggested. So, for this one I chose a book my sister had to read in school, but I didn't. It is "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH" by Robert C. O'Brien.

Oh, I loved that one when the teacher read it to us in grade school! I re-read it this spring for a book club. I still liked it and can understand why it was a childhood favorite, but dang, there's some weird stuff in there! We also watched the movie, and I kinda hated it. It lost me with the magic amulet crap.
