The winner in this category was The Hate U Give but since I've read that, I'll be reading All the Light We Cannot See!

Hannah Hamblin (hhamblin17) | 2 comments This was actually the first book I read in 2018, and although it absolutely broke me, it’s now my favorite book of all time. It’s very sad but I still think you’ll love it! It’s so well written, I couldn’t put it down.

Alicia (potatowitheyes) | 1 comments I have yet to read it, despite owning two copies of it for the longest time :')

Rebecca Will probably buddy read this one as it has been on my shelf waiting to be read for a while now.

Cindy (cindyxo) | 2 comments Excited to read it! Its been on my shelf for a few months now and i haven’t gotten the chance to read it. So many people love this book so i have high expectations!

Ssnakeplissken1997 | 4 comments I have been listening to the audiobook for the past ccouple of months and I'm not impressed. The plot is all over the place, and that scattered, unfocused feeling is not helped by the incredibly, annoyingly short chapters.

I hope you guys will have better luck with it! :)

Lorena (loair) | 1 comments I had to read this for a class that I really hated last year and I couldn't get into it so I just skim through it and look up the plot online. I still own a copy and I had thought about giving it another try but I can't help to still associated with that terrible class :/

Kimberly (i_dream_of_books) | 3 comments I have an advanced reading copy lol so that will tell you how long I’ve had it. I’ll definitely do a buddy read for this book.

Zilan I am so interested to hear about your thoughts on all the light we cannot see. I read this book over a year ago and I didn’t like it at all... just couldn’t get into it. It was to jumpy and all over the place. Was not a fan of the short chapters and the multiple people that you follow, just made it confusing. One of the most forgettable and worst books that I’ve read in my life.

What I love is that people seem to either love it or hate it haha

I've also had it on my shelf for a while but I'm hoping to pick it up soonish... probably this summer!

Claire Chibi | 1 comments Compulsory school reading kinda ruined historical fiction for me, but I thought that this story was pretty fantastic. I was actually a big fan of the jumpy storytelling and short chapters but I could see why others wouldn't like it.

I hope that you will enjoy it!

Right?! It's like the author couldn't trust us to have enough focus to follow one character for more than 3 pages at a time...

Emma Oldroyd | 1 comments Finally a book that I own in common with you! Excited to read this with you 😄

Jessica | 1 comments 0I just got this book today! Its our book club book this month. I am going to start this one and see how it goes!

Wendy (wmaresca) I read this story about two years ago and liked it when I did. Would be interested in rereading it and see how I feel about it. I also just finished The Hate You Give and wow can't say enough about it. Was so hard hitting. The topic I feel is something that needs to be read about.

CM Well I didn't love this book but I didnt hate it either. The writing is beautiful and the story is great but I just had a really hard time getting invested in it. I had to keep forcing myself to pick it up and read it. I think it had to do with the really short chapters that switched back and forth between characters and timelines, it made for quick reading but I could not just get lost in the book. I kept getting torn out of it while I reoriented myself to what was going on and with who.

Sandi | 2 comments I am only 1/3 through this book and am having such a hard time picking it up. I feel the short chapters and bouncing back and forth between Marie and Werner is choppy. I am trying to finish it as I dont like putting books down after I start them...I'm still waiting to see how their worlds interlock. After reading some reviews, I am encouraged that it will get better and easier to read.

Jenna War (jennawar) | 48 comments Picked this up from my library on audio and I’m at about 50%. I feel that I am more interested in Werner’s plot line. I wasn’t sure if I was into the beginning, but now I feel like it is picking up. Hopefully it continues at this pace, but I can tell it won’t be a 5 star.
