It's almost dinner time on the east coast which makes us wonder, do you have any go to snacks or drinks for when you're writing?

Coffee, for sure! And sometimes a protein bar.

Oh there is much chocolate. CVS has a great selection of high quality dark chocolate, which transfers itself to my desk drawer almost as if by osmosis.

Am suddenly feeling like I may be missing out on some great secret...will have to stock up on some dark chocolate for my next writing day.

have to have a snack or, at the very least have a beverage, whenever I'm writing. I remember reading somewhere that working one's jaws actually increases brain functioning--it was the Science Times or something--so I feel vindicated; but still, it's a problem. To cut down on the obvious calorie crisis of a long writing day, I sip diet Coke. By the end of the day I can be shaking with caffeine. Not healthy. But somehow water just doesn't do the job.

Coffee, coffee, coffee, or if it is after 3 pm, green tea.

Where others must have a cup of coffee to start the day, I must have a diet pepsi every morning. And the diet pepsi has to be in a can with a straw. Call it a ritual, if you'd like. For some reason, I developed a dislike for coffee when I was a teenager. So I get my caffeine from my one pepsi. I try to keep it down to one, but some days I cheat and drink two…

My go-to snack is Starbucks espresso in a can and a bar of Hershey's chocolate. I used to love Earl Grey tea with cream and sugar, but tea isn't as comforting in 90 degree weather.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) For those who love dark chocolate .... my local indie bookstore carries a brand - CHOCOLOVE

My favorite flavor is Chilis and Cherries in Dark Chocolate, followed closely by Coffee Crunch in Dark Chocolate.

As a bonus, the inside of the outer wrapper is printed with a love poem!

Book Concierge - Don't you love Chocolove? It's my go-to, too. So glad you enjoyed the discussion here. Best to you- Rebecca
