Not long to go. 17 hours and about 29 mins from now and we can start reading.

Yep that's the idea. It looks a lot but the mods balance the teams based on average books read per month so it should be doable. It has been known for me to pick up short books at the end of the month though to fill some gaps (books only have to have more than 100 pages after all) :)

I plan on pushing the cozy mysteries & quick YA reads myself.... Maybe some pulp fiction.... Going to lead off with good ol' Walt Longmire! Go Team!

I have a little Tessa Dare novella to kick us off. And I will be starting it in 23 minutes... 22 minutes ...

I'm starting off with Sorority by Genevieve Sly Crane. It's deliciously addictive!

I’m also starting with a short novella by Terry Goodkind. As soon as I get of work...

Have to confess I've been reading at work :) Not the best idea as I just made a bit of a mistake on something important but it's Friday and I've been working crazy hours lately. I deserve a bit of a skive.

I'm looking through all the different team names & I realized that there are a bunch that are strange to me, while I'm very well acquainted with some. I'm going to make it my personal Uno goal to read one book from all the series I've never read before -- starting with Nick Charles in the Thin Man!

Wow, for such a big book that was fast. I have to confess I tend to be put off by big books. I have so many final book in a series (War Storm, Kingdom of Ash) I just can't face starting cos they're so long.

I started another shorty today, In An Absent Dream by Seanan Mcguire, but it's an audio so it'll probably take me a few days.

Have to confess to googling Nick Charles myself Lauri. I've heard of most of the others but haven't necessarily read any of the books (and worryingly that includes Miss Marple). For most I only know them through the TV shows or movies.

Are we required to make a completion post for each book we complete? I checked the beginning of this thread but didn't see anything about it. (Unless I'm blind, haha.)

It would be good if you could do a completion post. If it's listed on the sheet I should spot it but it helps if you flag it here too. There's a format buried in this thread somewhere (I'll move it up front) but if all the cards it fits are listed on the sheet I'm happy if you can post you've finished it and give me a link to the edition read so I can check page numbers etc.

I've read it so I think we'll slot it in for one of the reverse cards in hand 3 :) They're not always that easy to fill.

If the cover I'm reading is grey.. that wouldn't help our color cards right?

Unfortunately not. Red, blue, green and yellow are what we're looking for... but mostly yellow (I hate yellow).

To be honest, I might have put off a bit of homework to get through that one. I actually didn't even realize it was that long, until it started taking longer to get through than normal. Probably one of the downsides of reading e-book formats.

I have a book that has a yellow cover but I will have to read it to see if it will fit 9. So far title and author don’t and I know the MC doesn’t but there may be a character in there that does! I will also do a completion post shortly. I’m on the app at the moment and need to get to my computer.

Just a heads up if you need another reverse I've read Legend ( I marked it in the tracking sheet.)
And I think I have a yellow book that will cover one of the cards in my TBR pile, if we still need another yellow that is. :)

I'm in the same boat Jessie. I have a few books with yellow covers but not sure they'll fit. I do have 99 Percent Mine which will work for a 9 but I was thinking it might be better for the 7.

Lauri which one or ones does your yellow fit?

Thanks Jen I had a feeling someone would've read Legend. I've always thought I was the only person who hadn't :)

We need a few yellows so chances are we can squeeze it in somewhere. What will it fit?

I believe it can work for 9 yellow, although I'm sure it can work for one of the other numbers as well..

I wasn't the biggest fan of the first book, so this book has been sitting in TBR pile for quite some time, but if it works as a yellow card I'll read it. :)

That should definitely work but we can wait and see if anyone else has something they really want to read before you force your way through something you're not mad keen on.

Honestly, I'll probably force my way through it either way. My good friend tells me I judged the first book too harshly. And if I hate it that much, its more motivation to finish it faster. :)
