The Perks Of Being A Book Addict discussion
Team Inspector Rebus

I'm Rachael, I'm your Captain and this is my fourth year of doing the Uno challenge. I'm from Birmingham in the UK. I read about 4 books a month and will read any genre. I go to a book club once a month which is great, means I often get to read books I wouldn't normally come across.
Looking forward to getting to know you all.

I’m Kelly. I plough though as many books as real life allows a month. I’m quite partial to a happy ending so chick lit is a favourite. Can’t wait to get started! This is my second year in the challenge.

I'm Katie and I've participated maybe 3 times in this challenge (I think). I'm currently in Pittsburgh, PA with a husband and 2 little kids. I used to read a ton, but now with 2 active kids I find myself with a lot less time. I try to get in as much as I can, though. I read almost all romance, though I do venture out from time to time. :P

My name is Leslie and I live on the west coast of Canada. Although this is my first time playing the UNO challenge, I am your co-captain. I can't wait to get started. I look forward to learning from Captain Rachel and helping the team any way I can.
I read many different genres and love how the goodreads challenges have pushed me to read books I wouldn't have typically read.
Looking forward to getting to know you all.

I’m Danielle and I’m from Wales. This is my fourth time playing UNO and it’s always a fun one.
Romance is mainly what I read. I do also like Fantasy, with some Mystery and Sci-Fi thrown in.

I'm Filipa and I'm from Portugal. I've played Uno before - I skipped last year, but I'm sure it'll come back to me quickly. I read m/m romance, but within that any subgenre works for me. I'm always looking for good fantasy and sci fi though.

My name is Ashley and I’m from Newcastle, England. I believe this is my third year playing UNO, it’s always great fun and I’m looking forward to starting!
I mostly read romance/fantasy/sci-fi books but I do enjoy most genres and like to mix it up a bit. The amount I read fluctuates a lot but I’ve been on a good reading streak lately so I hope I can keep it going for the next few months :-)

I'm Liz and this is my first time at UNO, so I want to make sure that I do everything right! (Let me know if I get something wrong or miss something). I read about 4 books a month and I read absolutely everything.
I'm excited to participate this year :)

I’ve just finished The Moon Sister by Lucinda Reilly. All of her books are fabulous. I also like Heidi Swain, Katie Fforde, Cathy Kelly, Lulu Taylor And loads of others!!

That's always such a hard question to answer! I think my favorite series is Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews.

Hard to answer. Some of my favourites are anything by Nalini Singh, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Anne Bishop, Lauren Dane, Sherrilyn Kenyon, J.R. Ward, J.D. Robb, Abi Roux, Kristen Ashley, Rhys Ford, Mary Calmes. There’s many more that I can’t think of now, but I’ll leave it at that.

My favorite authors are probably Ginn Hale, Harper Fox and Matthew J. Metzger. I also really like K.J. Charles, Eli Easton, Jordan L. Hawk and T.J. Klune, but it can be a bit hit or miss sometimes.

It's so nice to have a 3 day weekend. We were going to take the kids to the museum today, but there was some winter weather last night and the roads aren't the best right now. So, maybe we'll have a snow day and play outside instead. How is yours going, Rachael?

Weekend has been good thanks. I’m off work all next week too so I’m looking forward to some chill time :-)
Hope everyone else’s weekends are going well!

What are you going to get up to with your time off Ashley?
Mine was great thanks. I went to a running fair yesterday, trying to get back into running now that my injuries seem to be getting better.
For Uno I think it's easiest if you just read books and then say what cards it can count for, rather than everyone being given set cards. Leslie is going to set up a spreadsheet so that you can log what books you've read and what cards it matches and then I can use that to fill in the hands and let you know if they are any particular cards we need to get. Does that sound ok?

A spreadsheet sounds good to me. :) That's usually the way I've played in the past as well. Just read and see what fits.

Spreadsheet sounds great. :) I'm looking forward to starting, I feel guilty everytime I see a good letter in one of my books. :p

Yeah I like using spreadsheets. It is usually the best way to go about it :-)

However less than a week to go. I’m trying to hammer through my current read so I’m poised ready 😊

For the finished books, do you guys want us to make a completion post in this thread as well?

I don't think I have their emails. I looked through our other docs and didn't see them.
