Suzanne | 2453 comments Great KayLynn - that'll be awesome if you can finish the fingerprint book!

I think I should be able to cover the sunglasses - the audio book I found is only 5 hours, and I have enough grading to do, that it'll be easy to get it done.

Suzanne | 2453 comments I don't know of anyone reading for character known for being blonde - if you are willing to do that one, it'd be great!

Suzanne | 2453 comments Mini Challenge Incomplete (for now) Tasks

3. Fingerprint in title or text - Laila covered this
4. At least one fingerprint on the cover - KayLynn is 60% done
7. Character known for being blonde - Laila can do the Marilyn book
20. Money on the cover - Suzanne can read Aunt Dimity and the Buried Treasure
28-29. Letters O and U
31. Sunglasses on the cover - Suzanne is listening to a book

So wow! We are getting so close!

We still have some books to read for our hands also. I'll get things updated tonight. We have quite a few 8s, although I think we can also move previous things around if needed to cover some of them :)

Also we have SIX - yes SIX yellow book covers for April. So keep an eye out for any yellow books you want to read! :)

message 556: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments I’m looking at those colours now!! I can commit to a red and a green, a maybe on another green, and trying to find some yellows - I’m off to stalk the other groups for inspiration haha.

message 557: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments I felt like we'd done our yellow card time already. Lol one of the teams only got one yellow card the entire game!

message 558: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 541 comments I have 2 books I finished in the last few days that I still have to post and get in the spreadsheet, but I know for sure 1 of them can cover the fingerprint task on the mini.

message 559: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Oh wonderful - thank you!

message 560: by M (new)

M Beal | 317 comments I can cover the U for spell it out and a couple of 8's. Also SIX yellow covers. I will start looking at what I can find.

message 561: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Ok I have a list of yellow books that might help, and it turns out I also have three here on my list for April! I can cover:

Yellow 2 - the girl with all the gifts
Yellow 3 - big girl panties
Yellow 6 - give up the ghost

Some ideas I scored were:
Yellow 3 - tuck everlasting, dear mrs bird
Yellow 6 - the rule of one, the help
Yellow 9 - tuck everlasting, the wing girl

message 562: by M (new)

M Beal | 317 comments Kelly, if you read the girl with all the gifts I can do it for a reverse. It is my book club read next month

message 563: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Perfect! There’s loads of reverses too so we’ll be awesome! It could also be a wild draw 4 for one of us? If it’s not a reverse?

message 564: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Oh what masterful planning - thanks for helping me feel optimistic about April!

And ty for the great ideas too - I'll put them in the planning sheet when I get it set up, so that we have some good suggestions.

message 565: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments The Girl With all the Gifts also has a character named Helen, so it'd work for Yellow 3 as well as Yellow 2 :)

message 566: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Cool!! I just went with what I could find from the other groups and the book descriptions. So we could both read it and count it for different cards!

message 567: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Yeah great find!

message 578: by M (new)

M Beal | 317 comments I really love it. It is re read for since I just picked up the second one.

message 579: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Oh awesome. I hope you enjoy the 2nd as much!

message 580: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments We are getting super close to being finished with all of our March tasks. Honestly, I wondered if it was possible, but wow you have all come through beautifully.

Mini-Challenge
Complete other than a few books in progress
KayLynn's fingerprint on cover
Laila's blonde book
Suzanne's Sunglasses (90% done) and Money on cover (40% done)

Cards
Very few are left:
6 - (2 cards)
2 - (1 card)
1 - (1 card)
4 - (1 card)

Its likely we could cover a lot of those with the unfinished mini-challenge tasks.

So...judge your reading accordingly. It is never a bad thing to read just for fun, or pick up a longer book that won't be finished til April, or- whatever you want.

Thanks for working (or at least reading) miracles :)

message 581: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments I’m reading The Keeper Of Lost Things which will be a 2 (title). I’ll be finished tomorrow.

message 582: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Oh nice - ty!

message 583: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 541 comments I’ve got 2 books right now that will work for the main challenge.

Maybe Now - 6: CF Sydney
My Week with Marilyn - 1: CL Laurence Olivier

message 584: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments My book can also cover a 4 and a 6, so we’ve got some wriggle room too.

message 585: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments I love wiggle room :)

Honestly, you ladies have taken a lot of stress off my life - I can easily finish my two and its SO nice not thinking "oh no! I should try to finish 10 books this weekend!"

message 586: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Completion post (earlier than expected!)

The keeper of lost things - Ruth Hogan
2 - title
4 - character FN (Freddy)
6 - character FN (Sunshine)

message 587: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Also, is this book suitable as a yellow cover? I've also currently got it out of the library and it would slot in for YELLOW 9 or WILD DRAW 4 really nicely!

A Magical Match

message 588: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments What a cute cover! It doesn't have enough yellow on Tineye, but I'll ask in the Captain's group.

message 589: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments They said no to yellow for that one, but oh well. We have time :)

message 590: by Kelly (new)

It's a long shot but would this count as yellow?

Suzanne | 2453 comments KayLynn wrote: "Superior Saturday (The Keys to the Kingdom, #6) by Garth Nix

Sadly - stilly tin-eye counts it as more brown - boo!

And thanks for the great check-ins! Awesome reading! And yeah - we will use yours for fingerprint - then we can use that other for the pesky "u" letter - and wow - SO close to being all done! Yay!

message 595: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Ok - we are pretty much officially done with March! Laila - on the main hands - I put the spots for your books marked with pink so you'll know where to put them. But wow - yay for being done! Now we have 3 whole days to "relax" and then on to April - with extra hands and other treats in store - but we're up to the challenge :)

message 596: by KayLynn (new)

KayLynn Zollinger (kaylynnskorner) | 266 comments To count as April, books can be started anytime in the challenge but must be finished in April?
So I can start books but wait until the 1st to finish them?

message 597: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Yes that's correct - if you start something now (or earlier in the challenge) and finish it April, it counts for April :)

message 598: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 541 comments Thanks Suzanne! I should be done with both books later today

message 599: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 541 comments Both my books are in. We are done for the month!

message 600: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Awesome! Thanks all! I'm travelling home now. It was nice to have a couple days to focus on my parents!
