So here is a question for the day:

What is your favorite book you've read since December 1?


This is a hard one for me - and I've definitely read books that were more "fun", but I think my favorite was . Fredrik Backman always says things about human nature that totally resonate with me. So not my go-to comfort-read genre- but it was a good book!

I’ve been re-listening to all the Harry Potter books on audible. At the rate I’m going I should get to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by the end of February. We can use this for Wild Draw 4 or Reverse

I can't remember if subtitles or series titles count? I really should just not be lazy and actually go hunt for the answer. >.<

Nope they don't, sadly. But I need to check when I get back about narrators.

Also, translators. I'm sure the answer is no, but idk. Sad about the subtitles and series titles. I had a series that would work for a lot of cards. I'm working on my personal planning spreadsheet at the moment. :D

That’s a good idea Des! I tried to get started on one today but...kids and hubby shift works and life. So that’s on the list for later tonight.

I'm having a hard time waiting, lol. I keep finding all these great books that are available now through my library and I want to start them. D:

A tiny bit over a week left until we get to start! I'm sure excited - I know what you mean Des - there are books tempting me too!

I also started an "Ultimate Loser" thing - mostly tho help my son, but it's brutal - hopefully it'll get a little easier. 500 calorie deficit every day and 500 calories of exercise every day - I am soooo tired this morning!

What is everyone going to read first? I'm thinking I will read Burn Bright first - I've been holding off on that once since it is the last (for now) but it'll be a real treat to read!

Do you mean the last in the Alpha and Onega series?!?!? Because if it is, then I’m going to be terribly upset!! I’m not sure what I’ll read first. I’ve got a couple of choices - likely one of my mystery series books for 5 or 7 haha.

Yes that is the right series - and I'm sure it isn't the last, just the last published. I hope that's the case - it was already difficult finishing Kate Daniels and Charley Davidson =)

And yes those 5s and 7s can be hard to find - I'm glad you have a mystery series that covers some!

Ok phew because I read Burn Bright when it came out and all I’ll say is it CANNOT end there!!! Yes, I’ve been saving those mysteries up as well specifically for this just in case.

I have a small mountain of books prepared, quite a few of them for for 7s. I can't choose which one to read first so it will be a random grab.

I'm starting with The Selection, because I've been meaning to read it for several years now. :P

Off the top of my head, I can also cover the 1 card as well (author!), and with some extra thought and a stare at my MASSIVE book pile I’m sure I can cover whatever needs covering haha.

I’m not sure if I’ll finish Harry Potter book 5 this month or next, but book 6 and 7 will definitely be done in February. So I can help with those tasks as well

Oh great! I just re-read that series a couple months ago - its the first time I have listened vs. read and I sure enjoyed it. I got so emotionally involved!

In rotten news I have been nursing a broken ankle for a while and discovered it is not healing as well as my doctor would like. I am still at home not walking much. The bright side of this is I will be reading a lot more than normal.
I think I need to add to my pile by my bedside.

Books are a great thing to horde! But wow I'm so sorry that ankle isnt healing as it should. How frustrating. I hope you can find great books to keep you company as you wait for it to mend.

So sorry to hear about your ankle - that’s pretty crappy. But books are TOTALLY like gold, and you can sit upon your horde like a dragon queen.

I'm sorry to hear about your ankle too M. It's a great excuse to read all day, but probably not the one you want. I hope your horde of books is able to help keep your mind off your ankle.

I'm sorry you're dealing with a broken ankle, M! I hope it will start to recover and isn't causing you too much pain! My mother is diabetic and has broken her foot several times. I've seen how frustrating that can be for a person. Sending healing thoughts your way!! <3

I'm healing well from my surgery, with the exception of my large abdominal incision. A section of it split open yesterday and now it's causing me trouble. Thankfully, my pain levels are almost totally gone. I just have occasional bursts of pain, but nothing consistent anymore. I should be good to start in a few days! I'm ready to dive in! \O/

One more day until the challenge starts! Are you ready?

I have a nonfiction and a fiction book I'd like to finish -good goals I guess :) I can't wait to read for Uno so I'll definitely be watching that countdown.

I’ve gone through my books, and I’ve picked out a 1, 5, 7, and skip haha. I think I’m sorted for the first hand!

I don't plan my books particularly far ahead. That being said, I went through like every single series I have ever started and not finished to see if they had a Green 5.
I cannot guarantee I will get 'er done by the end of the month but I can guarantee I'll try. (Cuz I have to get through a few of the earlier books in the series....)

Broken ankle is the worst!
I stress fractured my foot a few years back and it still causes me grief.
I hope for a speedy foot recovery!!!

I think I found a green 5 I could do as well - I'll check with you mid-February and we can see where we're both at :)

I searched my books. I also have a Green 5 - The Black Moon which is book 5 in the Poldark Saga. And it’s the next book in the series I have to get to. But I’m working on finishing the Harry Potter books first, so if it’s needed I won’t get to it til the 2nd half of the month.

Awesome - we will check on the hard stuff every week and get it knocked out. And, I'd guess we'll also get a mini-challenge around Valentines Day. Time will tell!

Oh so for books read, it is fine to post them in this thread or in the spreadsheet - totally up to each of you - do what you prefer. Also, be sure to add them to your Uno shelf. :)

I’ll probably post on this thread, mainly because I use the goodreads app on my phone which makes editing hard!!

It’s started!!! I’m reading a “skip” book because I’ve been desperate to start it (author Dawn Kurtagich, main character Kaitlyn) but I’ll finish it tomorrow and get started on a 7 and a 5. HAPPY UNO DAY EVERYONE!!!
