Kelly | 976 comments I can cover 1 for the book I’m about to finish, and 9 for the book I’ll finish by tomorrow? Then if nobody else can, I can cover 2 as well - I’ve got enough books so I’ll be able to find something.

message 305: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Thanks Kelly =)

message 306: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments I’m also going to stalk the other groups to see what books they’ve read for their colour cards haha.

message 307: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Oh great idea! Be sure to write down here if you have any good ones.

A couple I've seen are:
Yellow 7:
The Truth (Discworld, #25) by Terry Pratchett (I could read)
Monstrous Regiment (Discworld, #31) by Terry Pratchett (I've already read)
The Winter of the Witch (Winternight Trilogy, #3) by Katherine Arden (but I'd have to read book 2 first)
Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand (Kitty Norville, #5) by Carrie Vaughn
Voodoo Histories How Conspiracy Theory Has Shaped Modern History by David Aaronovitch

message 308: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Green 5
In Farleigh Field by Rhys Bowen
In an Absent Dream (Wayward Children, #4) by Seanan McGuire
Infinity + One by Amy Harmon

message 309: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Well I need to read the Kitty #5 one and the Wayward Children (Seanan McGuire) one so we’ll have Wild Draw 4 or reverse covered!!!

message 310: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Oh perfect! And I'm ok with reading or not reading any of those - lol I just listed them at the start of the challenge because Yellow 7 is so hard - and wow so far we've gotten THREE. I think there should be some kind of prize.

message 311: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Yeah it’s not easy!! But looks like we have the hard one covered at least.

Also completion!!!
Cast in fury - Michelle Sagara
1 - character name (Orogrim)

message 312: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Last year I'm pretty sure the team that had the most Yellow 7 cards won the game, so let's hope that is a good sign for us!

message 313: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Hopefully!! That would be awesome!!! The next two books I’m reading (which will be completed in the next two days) are:

And the trees crept in - Dawn Kurtagich (9 - character Nori)
Twice Bitten - Chloe Neill (2 - title)

message 314: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Thanks Kelly! You have sure been a rock for our team this month. A beautiful rock. Like a sapphire :)

message 315: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments It just so happens that blue is my favourite colour haha

message 316: by M (new)

message 318: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments I put that in for #8 in hand 14. I really like the dragons on those book covers - it makes them tempting to read :)

message 319: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Completion post!!!

And the trees crept in - Dawn Kurtagich
9 - character name (Eleanor “Nori” Daniels)

message 320: by M (last edited Feb 25, 2019 12:38PM) (new)

M Beal | 317 comments I am going to look through my books today. I know I have a bunch that will fill all the 8's we need to do

message 321: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Great. Thanks M!

message 322: by M (new)

M Beal | 317 comments Also if no one has claimed them I can cover the 5 Green and 8 Red color cards.

message 323: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments If Cast in Courtlight by Michelle Sagara has enough blue, I can cover Blue 9. The version I’m currently holding sure does! I’ll link it when I get to computers for checking purposes.

message 324: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Cast in Silence. My bad. I’m trying to do too many things at once!!

message 325: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Here are the mystery clues we have earned:

(view spoiler)

message 326: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Here is the link to the mystery story:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Here are the questions we need to answer:
- Who killed Faustus Dutton?
- How was it done?
- What was it about the killer that gave him or her away?

message 327: by Suzanne (last edited Feb 26, 2019 11:48AM) (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments And... I don't have many good ideas for this. I think most of the other teams are doing the solving via private messages. But I have to admit, I'm pretty stuck! Feel free to PM me any ideas, or we can just discuss it here. It is worth 50 points - which is a lot - so I hope we can solve it. We do get 3 guesses :)

message 328: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Completion post!!

Twice bitten - Chloe Neill
2 - title

So that’s the 9 and the 2 done at my end - would you like me to cover the 1 book that’s got nothing in it in the spreadsheet???

message 329: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Thanks Kelly - and that'd be great if you want to, but if you'd rather start a longer book for March, that is fine too - I have a book that could cover it that I'll be finishing this week.

message 330: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments It’s a book I’ll read by tomorrow, and it was next on my list anyway so I’ll read it and if you need it then yay.

message 331: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Great - thanks Kelly!

message 332: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments No problem!! I’ve mapped out my next five March books too, and will actually attempt to get onto the computer tonight to load them in the March planning spreadsheet.

message 333: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Great!

I am also not sure how to discuss the mystery - I suppose we can create like a secret group to do it, or do it via PM or ??? I still don't really have great ideas and it is midterms, so I also don't have a ton of time. But it would be nice to solve it so that we can get full points for the month.

So yes, if everyone who has a chance can read the story and the clues and maybe message me your suggestions - I'd REALLY appreciate it.

message 334: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Are you able to message me the clues? All your posts were redacted haha.

message 335: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Certainly! I'll message you the clues and my so far sparse thoughts. Hopefully the story link works - I'm sure it has clues as well :)

message 336: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments So the books I have hopefully for the colour cards are What Fresh Hell for yellow 7 and Cast in Silence for the blue one - are they ok?

message 337: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments And I've also just logged the first five books in the spreadsheet. I've not finished putting all the info for them, but I guess that'll come soon enough!

message 338: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments That sounds great for the color books - I will put those and the ones M mentioned into the color parts of the planning sheet this afternoon.

message 339: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 541 comments I’m expecting to finish Harry Potter and the Cursed Child today. And then I’ll make my completion posts

 Wild Draw 4

message 341: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 541 comments Just have 'That Boy' to finish, which should hopefully be done by tomorrow. The open spots for cards 1, 2, and 9 are covered right? Anything for the mini that still needs to be completed? I can try to squeeze in a short book if needed.

BTW - I stuck Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts 1 & 2 in the mini for U - Umbridge. At least that hard task is all done =)

message 342: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments I’ve done 9 (and the trees crept in), 2 (twice bitten) and about to finish 1.

message 343: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Yup I think we should be all set! After the gym I'm going to update everything

message 344: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments And ty Laila!!

message 345: by Des (new)

Des (deslyn) | 198 comments This murder mystery is sooo hard! I've read it 4 times, taken notes, and read the clues over and over and I just have no idea. I feel like there's something missing. :(

message 346: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Me too Des! I swear there’s something missing!!

message 347: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Haha I have a sheet of notes too - and Des had some great ideas. Kelly, if you have any ideas, feel free to message me. I'll send you a copy of what Des said and what i said back. And if anyone else wants to look - please do!

message 348: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Ok all our February stuff is updated - doing the finishing touches at the end of the month will be pretty minor :)

I'm going to type up guess one and send ot to Kelly and Des (and anyone else who wants it) and then will send it to the mods hopefully tomorrow morning. I hope they give good feedback, unless we are somehow magically right. I feel a ton better about our theory now though :)

message 349: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments I’ve just finished a book that can be used as a 2 or 4 at a pinch

Blood of Eden - Tami Dane
2 - author name
4 - character name (Chad Fischer)

message 350: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Thanks Kelly - I always feel so happy having backup books!
