Rebecca | 225 comments I'm looking for recommendations on books where the hero is undesirable to most women. Most women wouldn't find him attractive. Not so much because he's a nerd. But maybe because he's scarred or gives off a bad vibe or has a bad reputation. The kind of guy that everyone whispers about but they don't really know him because they don't try to get to know him. Most people avoid him. What kind of trope would that be? I want to search the listopia, but I'm not sure what a book like that would be considered.

T.M. Hart | 20 comments The character Zadist in Lover Awakened from J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood Series is EXACTLY that. The only problem is that his is the third book in the series and to really get the best picture of him it's helpful to read the first two books--which mainly focus on other characters. So Idk if that's something you're up for. But omg- his is by far my most favorite of the series and it's the one I go back to and reread from time to time. I'd say it's worth it to read the first two just to enjoy his book. You've described him to a T.

Grim (Tornians, #1) by M.K. Eidem Grim by M.K. Eidem (Tornians #1)

One of the best SFR I've ever read, Grim has a hero who meets this theme. It's a wonderful book that most people seem to really like.

Love at First Roar (Grayslake, #4) by Celia Kyle Love at First Roar by Celia Kyle (Grayslake #4)

In PNR, I think Isaac from Love at First Roar also fits. However, he's only been recently scarred, so he doesn't have a super long history of women rejecting him. He meets his match in a mostly blind were-mole and her truly crappy seeing-eye dog! This heroine is a riot, as are so many of the oddball misfits that Celia Kyle is known for.

Paige's Warriors (Bondmates, #3) by Ann Mayburn Paige's Warriors by Ann Mayburn (Bondmates #3)

This book also has a hero that would match, but it's a SFR and it's also a menage, which I'm fine with but not everyone is. The hero I'm thinking of is Commander Trenzent from Paige's Warriors.
