Once the reading challenge starts, you can come over here and share the first book you're reading! Maybe you'll find someone else reading the exact same one?

Have you finished a book? Tell us as well! Maybe even add some of your thoughts about the book. Did you enjoy it? Or didn't you?

What's going to be your next read?

Every small progress you make, you can share here! Even if you just want to talk about a huge event that just occurred and you need to shout about it for a bit.

I really enjoyed this when I first read it a million years ago. I hope you like it, too.

Not sure if you've ever read Neil Gaiman before but strange is kinda his thing. :D

I rarely reread books but I'm itching to get this in audio.

message 7: by Caylynn (new)

Caylynn | 8 comments As soon as I finish King of Scars- my last book of January- I'm going to reread the Grisha Trilogy. So Shadow and Bone is my first book of February!!

message 8: by Mr Pink Ink (new)

Mr Pink Ink (mrpinkink) | 12 comments I've just finished reading Spellslinger by Sebastian de Castell - which was excellent! - and I think I'm going to start on The Swan Kingdom by Zoe Marriott.

message 9: by Eleanor (new)

Eleanor from my tbr, I am currently reading king of scars and queen of air and darkness. I am LOVING king of scars, but I'm finding it hard to keep my attention focused on queen of air and darkness, so I hope it picks up soon.

Kelly | 146 comments MrPinkInk wrote: "I've just finished reading Spellslinger by Sebastian de Castell - which was excellent! - and I think I'm going to start on The Swan Kingdom by Zoe Marriott."

Ooh I love the Spellslinger series. I'm hoping to read the third book this month and they just keep getting better. :)

message 11: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 146 comments In between finishing Shadow of the Fox from January, my first read will probably either be A Reaper at the Gates (I was *meant* to read that at the end of last year oops) or The Tethered Mage.

message 12: by Rita (new)

Rita (anarittafp) I think I'm going ot start February with Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare. Been hyping up this finale in my mind so much, hope it's worth it!

message 13: by Megan (new)

Megan | 26 comments I started These Rebel Waves a few days ago, and had hoped to finish it by now, but it's been unusually slow going for me because I'm away for the weekend.

Ghost in the Stacks Now I just need to figure out whst to read this month.

message 16: by Mr Pink Ink (new)

Mr Pink Ink (mrpinkink) | 12 comments Finished The Swan Kingdom by Zoe Marriott 3.5/5

evofox (brycereads) | 27 comments i have switched books. couldn't get into heir of fire so reading shadowblack instead

message 19: by Amy (new)

Amy (nonfictionfeminist) | 14 comments I have previously read The Name of the Wind thanks to a friend recommendation. I will give him all the credit for getting me even mildly interested in fantasy. my first read this month is The Wise Man's Fear (second book in the series) and I'm loving it! My favorite things are what I don't typically see in the few fantasy books I've read: challenging gender and race stereotypes and gender and race roles in society, class, homeless/poor main character. I also love the mental exercises that go into doing even the most basic magic, and that all the magic has pros and cons not only socially, but very physically

message 20: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 86 comments My first book of the challenge (that is, read in February but not started in January) is going to be Caraval!

message 21: by Megan (last edited Feb 02, 2019 09:58PM) (new)

Megan | 26 comments I decided to DNF my first book (These Rebel Waves) because by half way through I was still bored and uninterested; nothing was really happening. I'm now starting my second book in my TBR challenge, Reign of the Fallen.

message 22: by Eleanor (new)

Eleanor I have now finished King of Scars and I loved it to pieces. I'm not sure what I am going to read next, but I think I might start Never Contented Things.

message 23: by Julia (new)

Julia | 6 comments I finished City of Bones on audiobook on Friday. I thought it was just fine - I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more about 10 years ago. But I'm going to try my best and get through TMI to get to the better series.

I also just finished The Cruel Prince this morning which I really enjoyed! I think I might pick up The Wicked King next month. Next up are Every Heart a Doorway (which should be a quick read) and then The Girl in the Tower which is perfect for this cold time of year <3

The Wayward Children series is one of my favorites! I hope you enjoy(ed?) Every Heart a Doorway. :)

message 25: by Peter (new)

Peter (peterdonnelly) | 8 comments I've just finished a book that's been a crazy length of time on my TBR list - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Now I have to continue :):)

Your first time?! How fun! :D

message 27: by Erynn (new)

Erynn I've started Six of Crows, which I've been wanting to reread in anticipation for King of Scars. But... now that I've been hearing some mixed things about it, I'm nervous! It's taking me so long to read Six of Crows now since I feel like stalling because I don't want to be disappointed by King of Scars.

message 28: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystallee6363) Continuing with my reread of The Medoran Chronicles, I've finished Akarnae (The Medoran Chronicles, #1) by Lynette Noni and Raelia (The Medoran Chronicles, #2) by Lynette Noni and am now moving on to Draekora (The Medoran Chronicles, #3) by Lynette Noni . Loving it even more the second time! <3

message 29: by Jothany (last edited Feb 05, 2019 08:16AM) (new)

Jothany I have finished Dark Visions (Dark Visions, #1-3) by L.J. Smith :)

My next book to focus on finishing is Splintered (Splintered, #1) by A.G. Howard

Splintered got finished so now onto a new selection :)

message 30: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 146 comments I'm just under 3/4 through >Shadow of the Fox and should finish it tonight. I'm loving it! :)
I also started The Mortal Word at the weekend instead of others I'd planned. This series always makes me feel better and I needed it at the time- I'm currently paused at the entrance to one of my favourite and meddlesome characters arriving back on the scene so this should be fun!

message 31: by Laia (new)

Laia Pérez (laiaisreading) (laiaisreading) So, I already read All the Birds in the Sky and Half a King.
I'm not sure if I will continue Joe's trilogy or take a book off and read a fun-easy book.

message 32: by evofox (new)

evofox (brycereads) | 27 comments over half done with shadowblack. really enjoying it and some of the character building. not sure what to read next though

message 33: by Summer (new)

Summer (speaking_bookish) (speaking_bookish) | 59 comments So far I've finished Curtsies & Conspiracies & Little & Lion.

I'm about 10 pages into Saga, Vol. 1.

So far so good!

message 34: by Caylynn (new)

Caylynn | 8 comments I'm currently rereading Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo and it's so much fun! Since I just finished King of Scars, I'm really enjoying going back and meeting Nikolai/Sturmhond for the first time all over again. It's nice to see him from Alina's perspective now that I've read KoS from HIS perspective.

Plus who can turn down the chance to dive into all that sarcasm and too-clever fox attitude lol. Almost ready to move on to Ruin and Rising

message 35: by Tina (new)

Tina (trwriteratwork) | 6 comments I'm a few chapters into The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner and about 1/4th of the way through Elantris. :)

Still going but almost halfway through and loving it! I kept dreaming about it last night so it must be making an impression on me.

message 37: by Rainbowcake (new)

Rainbowcake | 7 comments Just finished my first book of the month, Count Karlstein . Good book. Not my favorite from Philip Pullman though.
And tomorrow I'll start Castle in the Air ^^

message 38: by Natalie (new)

Natalie | 18 comments I read The Star-Touched Queen, which I mostly enjoyed even if some of the protagonist's decisions frustrated me--the writing and the world-building were just gorgeous! Now I'm continuing in the fairy-tale vein with Spindle Fire.

message 39: by Heidi (last edited Feb 28, 2019 07:56PM) (new)

City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare (Finished)

The Witch Elm by Tana French (Finished)
This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity, #1) by Victoria Schwab (Finished)
Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity, #2) by Victoria Schwab (Finished)

message 40: by Megan (new)

Megan | 26 comments I just finished Reign of the Fallen, which I gave 4 stars to. I really enjoyed it, but I felt the ending was a little weak- things felt rushed, and kind of easy, like there was never any real high stakes or sense of danger for the characters. But I can't WAIT to get my hands on the sequel at some point. 😄

I've just started the third book on my list now, Phoenix Unbound, and I'm crossing my fingers for another great read. 😊

message 41: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 146 comments I've just finished The Mortal Word, which was brilliant as the series always is and caught up on my other outstanding book. Next, I'm getting to A Reaper at the Gates since I should have read it long before now haha! :D

message 42: by Feli (new)

Feli (felifirefly) I am finishing State of Sorrow right now. It's a JanJamJar leftover but fits well for Fantastic February as well :)
After that I'll start either Fire & Heist or Shadow and Bone. Not sure yet :)

message 43: by C.E. (new)

C.E. Clayton (chelscey) | 38 comments So I've started my first book for this months challenge (Road of the Lost: Book One of the Judges Cycle) and I'm... not loving it?

It's one of those fantasies that reads like a Fellowship of the Rings fanfic mashed up with some classic D&D with a healthy sprinkle of religious fervor for all Templars. 25% in and I've already been introduced to 6ish characters (no women tho) and the organization is such that I'm losing track of who is who and I think one of them just died? And I don't know if I should care? Sigh... Fight scenes are good at least?

message 44: by Eleanor (new)

Eleanor I have now finished Never-Contented Things and Evermore which I felt kind of "meh" about both. I'm now reading something which is not on my tbr....but I'm going to read it anyway - The Scarecrow Queen.

message 45: by Maile (new)

Maile (maybeee_m) | 13 comments I finally finished Godsgrave and Clockwork Prince- two of my favorite reads so far!!! Next, KoS finally!!!

message 46: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystallee6363) Finished Draekora (The Medoran Chronicles, #3) by Lynette Noni and yep, firmly in love with Niyx. Such a great series! <3

Here's my review!
